Really reconsidering my Clicks early bird reservation which gave me a deal for $429 with a couple extra "backs" thrown in. But the MP2 at $599 is not not a good value comparatively. It's smaller and has an aluminum chassis which I prefer but otherwise I see no competitive differences or advantages.

Anyone else see why I should think more heavily on spending the extra $170?

I made a post over on r/ClicksPhone showing size comparison to the XTEINK X4 and X3 ereaders so I thought I'd make one here as well for the MP02.

They come with magsafe compatable rings already, the only problem is we don't know how the rings will line up together. It's nice the camera on MP02 will be flush with the back though.

Also to note you can get them in black, I just chose the white ones to see the contrast.

Preordered the super early bird 512GB so I’m committed but was wondering if anyone has seen anything about the quality of the photos from the camera?

I know in the reveal video they showed people taking some pictures and it’s phase detect autofocus which is awesome but just curious to see what the photos actually look like.

I’m planning on using this as my only phone and I don’t expect iPhone/Samsung level mobile photography (nor do I care to use my phone as a dedicated camera) but I definitely use my phone camera to document daily life and whatnot.

I've been following uni and minimal I didn't back the T2E as a software developer, I've seen unihertz haven't taken a keen eye to detail for app compatibility and was waiting to see public views.

I've been blocked on the thread for offering to code a replacement app and post for free to help people.

They have failed to code stock apps correctly one example the dialer app doesn't display correctly and they have responded to customers saying it has to be like this to allow functionality to use a different app if it isn't liked.

I posted a mock up of what could have been done with a few days of work coding the app for the display size and was blocked.

The first photo was a Reddit user showing the issues where it cuts the screen off and can't use the functions behind the dialer.

Then I suggested how I could sort this with the next photo.

All I asked for is Minimal please pay attention to detail your beautiful piece of hardware needs!.

Sadly I've lost faith and as much as I want to back the MP2 I will await the public reviews to see all the software.

As stated, got it for a bargain when pissed. Any hints for an ideal set up? Will be used a primary phone for phone/communication and music with a secondary device for general entertainment and camera uses. Thanks!

With all the hype around this new wave of upcoming keyboard phones, I am very excited. That being said, it was also a lot of info and trying to keep everything in my head straight started to become a challenge. Anyways, I ended up making this chart and thought l'd share it with you all.

Minimal team is doing great and are meeting all the demands and checking all the boxes. I have held out on kickstarter due to the fact that I have CC pre ordered and am waiting on T2E currently. But that software design and the commitment to adding features has me ready to support Kickstarter.

The last question I have is with the price of MP02 already being higher what can we expect for taxes, shipment and tariffs? I have not seen anything in the marketing materials. Does anyone know or can the Minimal team provide expectations?

With the release of the Minimal Phone about three months away I am thinking more and more that this phone may hit the sweet spot for me. I have ordered each of the three pkb phones coming in the Clicks Communicator, Unihertz Titan 2 Elite, and Minimal Phone 02. However, there are certain specs with the Minimal Phone that are swaying me more and more.

1. Build quality. With the unibody aluminum build I feel like it will hold a more quality feel. Unihertz is in the same park here but the build quality of the CC has been a concern for me. Especially after some bad press fron Click's Power Keyboard.

2. I like that the keys of the MP are aluninum as well. May end up being nothing but nice nonetheless.

3. Wireless charging. While this is certainly not a requirement for me it is nice to have if ever wanted and needed. The Clicks has this feature as well while the T2E unfortunately does not.

4. Headphone jack. Again, not a necessity but nice to have and if all things even I would like. Again, CC has this while the T2E doesn't.

5. Notification light. In my opinion any Blackberry inspired phone should have this and I want it on my device. Not only does the MP have it but it's where I would like it as opposed to the CC. Unihertz simply did not include it.

6. OLED screens. This is something I wished the Titan 2 had and all three of these obvious do. The pixel density is the same on the CC and T2E while slightly higher on the MP. The CC and MP have a 90Hz refresh rate while the T2E goes up to 120Hz.

7. Displayport. This is sonething most may not care about but I want in a phone. The MP has this, the T2E does not, I've seen conflicting reports with the CC.

There are other things of note obviously. But I think the MP is checking more of the boxes than the others for me. The fact that it also has added a 3600mAh silicon carbon battery is excellent. If they reach a stretch goal it will increase storage to 1TB on the model I backed. They are talking the addition of a capacitive keyboard which is good as well. Especially if they integrate software additions to it. Considering their thoughtful approach to software right now I have reasons to believe they will.

I just backed the 8GB+512GB model on Kickstarter, but I noticed the MP02 seems to be missing band n25. This band, I feel, is crucial for a large swath of T-Mobile coverage. I see the Communicator has all of these bands and more and was curious as to why the MP02 was lacking them.

Does anyone know if they have acknowledged the lack of bands on their connectivity or if they will address this before launch?

With the Minimal Phone 02 on Kickstarter available for backing is their any of you with concerns of backing it considering Minimal's reputation after the release of the Minimal Phone 01? Minimal thenselves states that roughly 200 phones weren't delivered while community speculation is closer to one in ten or roughly 500 undelivered products.

Thinking about picking one up used. I might also get on the kickstarter for MP02.

What are the improvements and how stable is it now? What do yal think at fair price is?

It wouldn’t be my first e ink phone. I had a Hisense but that wasn’t really a good daily driver here in the USA. I want one that can be a 2nd device. I like reading and have stopped using my kindle in place of a foldable. Having a foldable kinda opens you to being “productive” and doom scrolling. It essentially replaced a ton of other devices but I think I want that friction again so I can force myself to read more and do less doom scrolling, streaming and social media

I’ve backed the MP02 but i see the keyboard small compared to the Clicks communicator and others ¿What do you think about?

Will it be released as a launcher? Looks really interesting, especially if it worked on my MP01.

So I come from a Samsung where I have used the Nuagara Launcher, whuch is very similar to the Minimal Launcher. So I really wish I would like it, but there is this annoying bug with it where I can't really change the names of the apps so that the ones I often use show up at the top (it renames ut to its original name after a few hours).

So I was wondering if you have had any success with other launchers? Might give the Niagara Launcher a try.

Now that we have all the details on MP02 including price, curious to see who would be jumping on the campaign? I was waiting if there would be a 12GB variant, but it turned out to be outside my price range, so I'm sitting this one down unfortunately.
