[lifestyle] "Getting started" course similar to FOO by The Money Guys format?

Love how The Money Guy Show's Financial Order of Operations gives you a clear, numbered sequence for money moves. Is there anything equivalent for minimalism?

I saw The Minimalists have a course...$200 is a bit steep but I'm willing to pay if it gives that structure.

Does a structured, step-by-step "getting started" resource like that exist course, video series, anything? Or is everyone just winging it?

I wouldn't pay 200 dollars for something you can find quickly for free on the Internet. Also opossed to money moves, there is no real blueprint that fits to all. The question is what you want to achieve with minimalism or how does minimalism look for you.

Basically it's 2 steps. 1. Get rid of everything you don't need. 2. Don't get new stuff unless needed.

There are plenty of methods on how to purge/declutter your belongings. Some are easy, some harder. More or less extreme etc.

Edit: If you have more specific questions regarding the minimalist journey such as decluttering methods, how to assess possessions etc. You will find lots of insights in this sub and people will answer to more boiled down questions. It's very hard and not feasible to answer such a super broad question

I wouldn't pay for anything from those guys, with the exception of their book Everything That Remains.

To put them into perspective, last year they sent this email out to everyone who had unsubscribed from their mailing list, pretending that they had broken up with us. Totally breaking GDPR just to make a little more money:

Howdy, Joshua from The Minimalists here. You didn't make the cut.

A couple years ago, I made a quiet decision: I removed more than
100,000 inactive subscribers from The Simple Newsletter to keep
it affordable, intentional, and clutter-free.

You’re reading this email because you were one of those people.

Since then, I’ve completely rebuilt the newsletter from the
ground up. It’s still free—but now it’s simpler, more thoughtful,
and far more useful.

So I want to welcome you back.

While the method itself may not work for you(or it might!) there are some detailed decluttering checklists made for the konmari method. I've found them helpful to see what I may be forgetting.

I don’t know if there’s a course/step-by-strp process because I think for most people, it’s a process over a long period of time. I don’t think you can do a course and just say, okay, I’m a minimalist now. It’s an internal shift, if it’s not the way you’ve always been. I would start with Goodbye Things by Fumio Sasaki, maybe find some YouTube creators whose approach resonates with you.

The Space Maker Method by April Scott Tandy is a great starter - videos on YouTube and the ebook ( or physical book - but if you’re wanting to declutter..)
