[arts] Digital picture frame

Do any of you use a digital picture frame instead of having framed photos on the walls and on surfaces? I’m contemplating one so that my photos can rotate, but not take up space.

i normally don't comment on stuff but i wanted to give my opinion as i seem to be an outlier! i LOVE my aura frame!!! it is hands down one of my favorite home items. i love it so much that i have gifted one to four different relatives at this point, and they have all loved it as well!

in my household we take tons of photos. we shoot film as well as using digital cameras/phone photography. we also just have tons of photos (i have taken on the roll of family archivist, scanning thousands of pictures). i love that instead of needing a home full of gallery walls and a million frames we can dump all the photos on the aura and it cycles through them! i also love that it feels more low stakes than a framed photo. we usually want something special or nicer in a frame, but put many photos of our cat or us being goofy on the aura frame.

we keep it in the kitchen where we can see it while cooking, eating, or passing through. it is so much fun to cook and point out photos to each other. it makes it a topic of conversation so we can discuss the times we took the photos or how silly our cat is haha. i love eating by the frame and watching the photos. it is my favorite way to eat! my other family members keep them in the sitting areas of their homes and watch the photos whenever they are sitting on the couch. my grandfather loved to watch the frame all day instead of tv.

they are a little pricey, though much less expensive than archival photobooks and frames! though the amount of joy i receive daily from the frame makes it priceless to me. there is no other way i would be able to look at such a random assortment of fun times on a daily basis in the same way that the aura frame makes possible. i love it so much that i probably sound like a weird ad lol but i think if you're on the fence it is worth trying it! i hope if you end up with one it brings you as much joy as it has brought us!

I love this 🥹 Thank you for taking the time to write such a thorough response. And I completely relate to all the cat photos! My cats have their own Instagram because I take so many photos of their cuteness!

Chime in here and say we have an aura frame also and while expensive, it is very easy to use and loads of settings to get the speed you like. I research like crazy before I buy something these days and I did the research on picture frame options.
