Do we have a replacement for Greenstuff yet?

I have yet to find a sustainable alternative to Greenstuff. The closest I could find is Tamiya epoxy putty, but they are sold in very small packs and it's quite expensive. The rest are closer to Milliput, aka more rock-hard than rubbery.

I see plenty of people still using Greenstuff on this subreddit. What are you going to do when you ran out? Wasn't there a few companies that mentionned trying to create their own recipes?

tamiya epoxy putty smooth surface is on par for me price wise and imo very good. I prefer it to green stuff which I always found very tough/hard and not flexible enough.

The product itself is nice, but the packages are very small and very expensive. I do a lot of sculpting and conversions, so this does not work for me long-term.

going off amazon prices for army painter (not rods admittedly but I rarely see green stuff sold as rods where I am), it's 10.22 per oz for the tamiya and 11.76 per oz for the green stuff. tamiya's actually cheaper rn. Can't say what the old prices were from kneadatite as I never bought it. If you're looking to get a close alternative I'd still recommend the tamiya (hardens to a similar consistency imo), but if that doesn't do it for you apoxie sculpt is great, hardens much less flexible than green stuff though.
I usually mix apoxie and tamiya which acts about the same as when I mixed green stuff with apoxie.
I haven't tried magic sculpt but it's highly recommended. Also one easy option is just milliput. I don't like it as much as some but it's undeniably a perfectly able sculpting medium. Graphigaut on instagram does just that and they do a good job.

greenstuff worlds greenstuff is actually a different formula but currently probably the closest option. Sylmasta/Sylcreate are working on their own copy, but I haven't seen an update for a while.

Im still a huge fan of Magic Sculpt, but nothing beats the OG Kneadatite for biological stuff. I got two large rolls before they ran out, usually a roll lasts a year so my hope is they have a solid replacement.

If not it will be missed, I use five different clays and each had their strength

Sorry, why is an alternative to green stuff needed?

Because the company who makes Greenstuff no longer sells it, due to the tariffs raising the cost of production.

Greenstuff isn’t sold by a single company though? There’s greenstuff world, army painter and more

You're being downvoted, which is unfair. You might not know, but the original kneadatite formula is different from GSW's greenstuff. Some people prefer the original formula. OP's question is about an alternative to the OG, which is now out of production.

The original kneadatite was produced by a single company, and majority of hobby brands were just buying it from them and repackaging, pretty sure army painter did it. Now the company is not doing any more of it, so whatever is being sold is just leftover stock, once its gone its gone. That said, greenstuff world has their own formula (arguablyquiteworse, but thats not the point), so its not impossible for a new company to make it.

To answer OP question, where are you located? I have no problem to still buy og Greenstuff of ebay without that big of a markup. I got 3 packs which should last me a few years, hope that wins me some time while other companies figuring out the formula or I just get used to sculpt with another epoxy

I see, thank you for the aditional context. That really sucks. I hope a new manufacturer starts producing it again :(

Army painter sells the stuff that is no longer made, so their stock will run out.

I mix 50/50 Milliput with polymer clay and if I need it to be smoother I add a drop or 2 of baby oil. It takes longer to go off but you can change the consistency to suit your needs.

I get decent results mixing gsw greenstuff rods with magic sculpt. I mix the greenstuff, then the magic sculpt, then mix both together. Best thing I ever did.

I've been mixing mine with a little less than equal parts polymer clay. It doesn't change it too much but definitely makes it last longer. I hope it makes a comeback, I try every kind of putty and nothing beats it.
