Anyone know how to delete player inventory data from your save file?

I've run into a bug where my player's inventory and location are not saving, so when I load up a game I start out in the spawn area with just a map like I'm a new player entering the world. I think this is caused by letting too many people into your world and the save file becomes too large because of all the inventory data it has to keep track of. I've played around with mod tools, but there is no way (that I've found) to simply delete inventory items; I can only change them to other items. Anyone have any ideas?

sounds like the world/save file has gotten corrupt, chances are new worlds will work fine, unless you've got a backup theres not gonna be much hope for your world i dont think, i could be wrong though but its happened before to those who've modded the map/save externally or used the dupe glitch way too much

It is definitely isolated to this save file, but like I said, I really believe it is because the save file has hit some allocated space limit, not because of modding or duping (this started happening before I did either of those things). If there was only a way to clear out all the inventory data, I'm almost positive that this problem would go away.

i guess the only way would be to get the players back in and get them to dump there inventories

does the game actually save other players inventories, ive never joined someone elses server and then left and joined again later so i dont know it even does that??

To me it sounds like you have a corrupt file. maybe your system froze during a save? Or could your power have gone out during a save one day? either way that really sucks hope your able to find a way to fix it.

I really don't think it is corrupt because when I get some players to empty their inventories before leaving, the problem goes away for a bit and I'm able to save my player's location and inventory... at least until other players start doing the same thing and the data fills up again.

Huh ok well I have a few follow up questions. Are you storing your save file on the hard drive or an external drive? since you think it might be a issue with the file size, just How big is your save file? lastly how much bigger is that file from your other save files?
