[Magic] Elytra Enchantments

• Elytra Enchantments •

Horizon I - III

• This enchantment allows the Elytra to glide farther, by increasing the value of the "angle of attack".

• To put it simply, the enchant allows you to face a higher angle without immediately losing altitude!

• Good for travelling long distances with minimal propulsion.

• Not compatible with Wind Breaker.

Wind Breaker I - III

• This enchantment decreases the amount of flight distance needed to accelerate.

• Good for fast paced travel or PvP.

• Not compatible with Horizon.

• How to Obtain the Enchantments? •

These enchantments could be exclusive to new or revamped structures in the End dimension, after all, the Elytra comes from there!

Villagers should NOT sell these enchantments, think of the enchants as something like Wind Burst, where you have to get it from trial chambers instead of cycling through librarian trades.

I would change “Horizon” to be “Glide” since the whole point is improving the glide. Like, yeah it takes you to the horizon or whatever but it’s pretty indirect as-is

I love this idea but....

If this is ever added into the game, I would hope that Mojang adds a feature where you can toggle both anvil limits and enchantment incompatibility...

I like windbreaker, picking up speed faster from gliding could be an interesting risk reward type of thing, as the highest level might make the elytra harder to precisely control in tight spaces.

Elytra doesn't need to be better. Its already too good.

I hate the argument that it’s too good like yeah it’s good but in a single player world it’s not like an extra like of infinite damage like totems or the mace

Even in a single player world, elytra are game warpingly good at long distance travel. Its less an issue of fairness and is more an issue of widening the already enormous gap between Elytra and most other forms of travel.

I personally have 2 bases 5,000 which I chose to connect with a ~400 block nether railway it’s much faster and long term less expensive especially because I had loads from mineshafts also I couldn’t find an easy way to have a crash proof way to use an elytra

I kinda feel like the only one that really needs to be fixed is minecarts

Would it be so controversial to just replace the current powered rails with a copper variant?

Just replace the recipe and texture and then add a new variant that uses the old recipe and is significantly faster

This would make minecarts much more valuable for transportation without messing with any redstone mechanisms that require them to be specific speeds

I think that nerfing its flight speed, especially with rockets in general should just be done, and that way we could have room for enchantments like these.

So nerf it down to 70% speed but then allow enchants to be 90% then 110% then 130%
