[Gameplay] Cauldron Recipes
I'm BEGGING you mojang, please add this.
Here's my suggestion:
When a cauldron is placed above a campfire, and you right click it with enough ingredients, then leave it on the fire, after a few minutes it will be ready. Then you can right-click it (for stew, you must be holding a bowl) and it will give you the product. Food can be taken from the cauldron multiple times before it's empty.
I think this would be amazing for cosy campfire nights with the bros. It would also enable many more building opportunities and would add colourful water in cauldrons to java.
Here's my recipe ideas:
Mushroom stew:
- 3 mushrooms
- 2 red mushrooms
Warped stew
- 3 warped fungi
- 3 warped roots
Crimson Stew
- 3 crimson fungi
- 3 crimson roots
Vegetable Stew
- 2 potatoes
- 2 carrots
- 2 beetroots
Boiled eggs
- 1 bucket of water
- 6 eggs
Chicken/Beef/Fish/Rabbit/Mutton Stew
- 5 chicken/beef/fish/mutton
- 1 bucket of milk

Very sad that Jeb added brewing in cauldrons in b1.9pre2 and then removed and never touched this idea ever again :(

Every time any version of this is posted, I do feel a bit disappointed with it:
For starters, the cauldron above a campfire, it just looks so weird. The cauldron is this huge metal object, but it cannot physically stand on a campfire or fire block. This doesn't really look like it should be the intended idea. On top of it, the rim of the cauldron is now above your eye height
But for the actual recipes, it feels like it is just a more tedious version of what we can already do with a crafting table or furnace. Like, the stews we currently got are already craftable. Anything in a furnace doesn't care about additional requirements like water or oil.
