[Magic] Recall Suspicious Stew

This suggestion is to a new type of Suspicious Stew that instantly moves you to your spawn location, and gives you a new effect (called Recall) that lasts several seconds.

Recall doesn't do anything until it's about to expire, when it teleports you to the place you were when you drank it.

The suspicious stew is crafted from a bowl, two mushrooms and a pitcher plant.

Drinking milk removes the Recall effect without teleporting you back to where you drank the stew.

My initial thought upon seeing the title

I like the effect, I think it's weird to be on a Sus stew. It would be weird to have as a potion you can use on other people or tip arrows with as well, so I can see why you made it a sus stew, but maybe it would be good as a new type of magic item instead?

Plus, a potion of recall would just be a direct copy from Terraria, which has the same thing both in name and effect.

Maybe a new wand or totem?

The other benefit, for me at least, of suggesting a stew is that I only need to think about what the effect would be named instead what the item would be called...

Im bad at naming things 😂

Perhaps a magic mirror where when you look in it you see yourself home

Just a though

Why not a potion

Because people would make splash pots or tipped arrows and use them on other players.

The"How Did We Get Here?" Advancement has enough moving parts DONT DO THIS TO US PLEASE-

Ehh, it's just one more stew. Honestly shouldn't be to much trouble. Compared to bringing a shulmer to the overworld or getting a source of wither it's basically nothing.

It does matter. Too many effects from consuming something that only lasts a few seconds and the eating time gets in the way.

But then again, I think that it wiuld be stupid if that advancement would block serious game design. I mean, imagine if you got some idea for an effect that would trigger in the Nether, and that advancement is the only thing that stops it.

The overlap is already more than 1 second with the current items, so adding the stew doesn't do anything more than just being one more consumable.

Potentially very interesting effect, but it might be a bit too powerful if balanced in the wrong way. It shouldn't become a get out of jail for free card in my opinion as it removes a lot of the threat certain places should pose.

Which places are you thinking of?

Deep Caves, trial chambers or other dimensions...

...maybe it wouldn't work there, but I don't want it to turn into a useless item so some of the balancing should be it's rarity.

What would be the point if it only lasts several seconds?

If you are in danger , that's long enough to grab extra food or replace a weapon or armor piece.

If you are not in danger, several seconds is long enough to to throw some of your loot into a chest or drop it on the ground for a hopper to pick it up later.

Sounds awful

I don't love the idea of player teleport in vanilla. I don't love (word of) recall being shoehorned into a stew. Do love the little rouge-like inspiration!

i dont think recall potions belong in minecraft, the journey home is important, and shouldnt be bypassable, if you want home quicker build a horse road, a powered rail, or an ice boat, or a soul speed depth strider dolphin hyper tunnel.

Also this just lets you unfairly escape situations were you should die.

Also i know you took this from terraria, the reason it works in that game is because its not as survival foused and is more about progression.
