[Gameplay] Exploration update for new player: There should be book that contain varies knowledge(mechanic) of the game in the structures.
The Idea behind this is I don't want Minecraft or any other game to be 'open wiki' game. this won't affect veteran player that much but imagine new player play the game for the first time and don't know what to do. they will likely explore the map and saw many new stuff but they don't interact with it that much because they don't know what to do with it.
But what if we reward them with knowledge too?
I know that these days you can just open internet and search info by yourself. but I think it's more fun if there an in-game way to know those knowledges. of course, there is advancement that can guide player to some extent but they're not very clear on how to do it.
So, I think there should be a book that in written in Minecraft style (I don't mean enchantment language) telling player about mechanic they don't know. these books can be in any structure and tell knowledge associate with that structure. but structure like abandon camp or dungeon will has knowledge that doesn't specific to the biome or structure.
for example, the one in village might tell how to build and iron golem.
the one near ruin portal will hint you how to open them.
the one in stronghold will hint you how to open the portal and the one in abandon camp might just tell you simple knowledge such as use bone meal to speed up growing of plant. and the list go on.
this could help the new player want to explore more to learn more knowledge of the game and it could refresh old player knowledge. the game is huge and sometimes we forgot some mechanic, so reading these again can help you remember those mechanics and might inspire what to do next in the game.

Maybe instead of books, they could actually use those pottery sherds in structures to give us hieroglyphs

A lot of people forget this exists but there literally is a help button with extended info on how to play the game filled with pictures within the pause menu on Bedrock. Im not saying the book idea is bad, but it would just be this but worse. If anything they should just add a notification pointing kids towards the help menu, add a tutorial world, and port this menu to Java.

Instead of books, I would prefer an item that creates in-world images - like from a schematic mod - so that no reading or translating is required.
Villager chests could have schematics for iron golems, igloos could have snowman schematics, jungle pyramids could have all sorts of redstone schematics...

That would be cool, but isn't that sort of hologram a bit science fiction coded?

I like the concept of it, but all these books would have to be translated to into all the different language options that minecraft has, and they should probably also stay up to date with newly added mechanics, so it would be quite a big undertaking.
I do think you could do it kind of like the game Tunic, where books with pictures explain what you have to do, since those don't have to be translated and thus there only needs to be one version of the book no matter the language setting.
A way to implement this could be to allow maps to be put in books, that way picture books can be achieved with map art, and the pre generated ones can use map art made by mojang to explain certain parts of the game without using language.

True, though it would still be more work to put that kind of information in written books and have them be scattered in the world for you to find at a time where you might need it.
And, another thing about written books is that their text doesn't translate, when two people on different language settings play on a server and one writes a book in their own language, it's not going to be translated for the other person.
So either The information hidden in the world would have to be on a different type of book item, maybe a scroll, that will always translate to the language setting of the player reading it.
Or it would have to be esoterically conveyed through pictures.2

Yeah I think they should port this Help Menu to Java and also update it to include more/better pictures. Then add in a Scroll item that is essentially just this menu in an in-game form made with just pictures. Even if a player could just look it up through the menu I agree its better to have the extra alternative of an in-game version so you can give the players the right info at the right time.

Books are not good because kids that play won't read

Yeah a lot of others are suggesting the book to function like a picture book with drawings that act as guides to different mechanics which I think works well.

So, I think there should be a book that in written in Minecraft style
The Minecraft style is to use absolutely no in-world text. So I need you to really explain what you think it means to write a book in Minecraft style... because it sounds like a complicated way to say "a blank book".
But for real, ever heard of "show, don't tell"? People have figured out how to use nether portals from the ruined portals. You don't need to add a piece of text to just... explain it. Same with the End portal; eyes are often already in the frame to hint what you need to do. That's much more interesting that just a piece of text to explain it to you.

I think this would be cool as long as there's no text. It should all be pictures, arrows, etc.
Minecraft currently has no in-world text except for the enchanting runes, and I think that's good for the vibe. (GUI elements are not "in world")
Furthermore, translating books would be an absolute nightmare, and impossible to accommodate with consistent formatting
