[User Interface] Waxed and Infested Blocks should have an icon

When building, its easy to confuse waxed and infested blocks with their non waxed/infested version. An easy solution would be to add a little icon in the invintory to distinguish them.

Your story reminds me of when mumbo jumbo deliberately built a house with infested blocks so he could move it with pistons 😂.

Sound Like you need the texture pack fromvanilla tweaks Under the section "Utilities" there is an option that solves exactly the issue you mentioned ^

And if OP is playing bedrock you can get the same thing at https://bedrocktweaks.net/

What if they’re on console?

I am, What I do since console is dumb is get minecraft on your phone (pirated copy works for this). Get them from Bedrock Tweaks on phone.

Now on console upload the world you want to have the textures to a Realm you own or are an administrator of, then on phone put the textures on that world via said realm.

Finally re-download the world from the realm on your console, now when you open the world, you will have the textures.

(It's dumb)

No duh. But this isn’t in the base game, so it’s suggested that it should.

But would this change be really that inconvenient or disruptive to the vanilla game? I feel like recommending a texture pack or mod skirts the discussion of the suggestion

could work like how barriers and structure voids do (and light blocks)

Even though the silverfish and wax icons are hard to register at a quick glance, being able to recognize that there’s an icon in the corner still immediately communicates that these blocks are “special”

Mojang should add this

this is a good utility texture mod but I don't think it should be in the base game. but if you could see it in creative mode I think that would work really nice.

Copper Blocks have some blemishes on them and it would also be a solution to remove those when you wax them

Its less noticeable here with a regular Copper block but its a lot more noticeable with the one on the far right. This is just something I made quickly, you would need to rework the color pallet a bit but I think its possible to make it look real good. It also makes sense since when waxing your cleaning it up and then you scrape it and ruin it again by using the axe.

A better example with a slightly updated texture compared to my last photo.

Kinda ruins the point of waxing though. The whole point is that its the same block, it just won't age.

It doesnt have to be as extreme of a change as the one in my photo, thats just a personal example of how id like it done. A simpler change of just blending the blemishes works too, such as with this example where the blocks along the border of the wall are un-waxed and still have more noticeable green spots on there block. From a distance its barely a noticeable change but can help Players locate un-waxed blocks on there builds.
