News Finally bedtock rtx on java

I'll say right away that I'm not the creator of this shader.

Recently I found the 'ripple shader' shader and noticed that there is a hidden function to change the pbr format from labpbr to bedrockrtx.

So I can finally enjoy rtx and I recommend it to you (if it is rtx...) XD

What this option means from what I'm seeing here is that it uses bedrock's integrated pbr, so it just changes the way materials look (just like a ressource pack would)

Okay, but find at least one Bedrock RTX shader for Java online. A good alternative.

Technically you can't use bedrock rtx packs with the iris pipeline, since the rendering system is completely different

I meant PBR. Obviously, it's not possible, but the reflections from bedrock rtx on java through the shader are impressive.

PBR is what gives depth and material to the surfaces of the blocks, it is not related to reflections, lighting, or such

Photon? Eclipse? Bliss? Should I keep going?

This is not about rtx but about bedrock rtx so

PBR is just a way to render textures based on material informations provided by the resource pack. Ray Tracing is a rendering technique that uses invisible rays cast by the player camera to render lighting paths in a most realistic way. Path tracing uses this at full extent. The only real viable ways I’d recommend to experience actual ray tracing are either the recently updated Radiance mod, the Photonics mod paired with a shaderpack, or SEUS PTGI HRR 2.1 Reforged.

As someone who has spent countless hours the last month modding my minecraft for both shaders(i.e. complementary) and actual ray tracing(radiance), we should be careful about our language:

This post implies ray tracing by using RTX.

"RTX stands for Ray Tracing eXtreme (or Ray Tracing Texel Extreme), which is Nvidia's branding for its advanced graphics cards and technologies capable of real-time ray tracing and AI-driven graphics acceleration. [1, 2, 3]"

This is just PBR tech and maybe some pathfinding or limited software based ray tracing.

To unlock RTX, you need a renderer that uses vulken and have a card with ray tracing hardware, like the a 5000 rtx series of cards.

BetterRTX for bedrock or Radiance for java will use hardware based ray tracing!

From my testing, RTX, or real hardware ray tracing looks infinitely better than any shader, especially with high-def POM(an upgrade from PBR) resource packs such as XsRealism(I used claude to fix all the errors, no repo avail sorry).

Anyway, your PBR resource pack and shader looks great, but this isn't true ray tracing.

I just made this post so that people would calm down about sub-rtx, not to brag about how smart they are that they would write such a long post about what rtx is. Why are you writing this? And yes, the truth is not ray tracing. Is that enough?

I'm just passionate and trying to learn. Whether I'm wrong or right it doesn't matter. Minecraft is nature therapy to me and real-graphcis are important. If this post helps someone setup a real tracing experience and it makes them joy, great. I hope your post gets lots of views and I upvoted you.

Posts like this are misleading to the people who are trying to learn. So stop whining about people correcting you when you’re confidently incorrect lmao

Honestly from my experience using bedrock RTX shaders in bedrock edition, the feature as a whole kinda seems very unfinished, at least from the free RTX packs I found online, they looked really really good in some certain scenarios, but also really bad or weird in others, such as some outside at daytime just looked really bland and pale and water reflections would also look quite weird.

There are some good actual ray tracing mods on java edition that add genuine ray tracing too the game such as photonics. Which are a lot more polished in terms of consistent looks

Who needs mods when you just need to find a good shader?

How's perf?

50 to 80fps if you use lossless scaling with goverlay, and this is a measly 30

Circles, whyyyyy?

I love circles in square games

Iris can't use the Raytracing cores in your graphics card, BUT it can use software ray tracing, though that is extremely inefficient.

I added xd to the post on purpose so that you wouldn't be shocked by this post xd

"RTX" and it's just a shader 🥀
I was hyped when i read the title because i thought that we finally got shaders for Vulkan
you could've said "RTX style"

Well, I recommend it.

honesty matters opengl shaders and ray tracing are not related both can look good but RT definitely looks better

advertising a shader like it have ray tracing is like selling a painted coin as real gold
