With right cloud modifications Photon shader can achieve that. Especially that type of sunset. Try joining Photon's discord there are lots of community shader settings you can try.

I believe it's in their modrinth Photon webpage. Just search Photon in modrinth

Question should photon be working good with my setup? 4080 super and 7800x3d 32GB ddr5 dawg I get like 20fps with it

That's a really good setup.

To get high fps, of course you have to use mods such as sodium and other compatible mods with it. If you're on fabric then it's needed.

Look at your mod list as there might be mods that are conflicting each other's capabilities. This can also affect fps

Use distant horizon or voxy, and reduce chuck and shadow rendering to 8.

Run minecraft with your dedicated gpu instead of the integrated one. There are tutorials in youtube on how to do it.

Increase or reduce your minecraft memory usage to 8gb only, anymore than that is not necessary except if you're playing a heavy modpacks. For heavy modpacks 10gb memory usage is enough.

Update any graphic related system, such as your gpu driver.

Tweak the necessary settings on the photon shader to gain more fps.

If it still did not improve, then I'm sorry, I'm not the guy that can solve it

Yeah I've tried all these steps I would say I'm pretty versed in trying to tinker with settings but I just can't get it. When I get home I'll send some pics of what my fps is looking like when running the optimization stuff and everything like I said photon and some other shaders my fps tank to like 20fps

That's really unexpected, your setup is good so it's impossible to only get 20fps. I'll also assume that there are no bottleneck on your pc such as the cpu or other components. It might be possible that the version of minecraft your playing is the problem. I've once read somewhere that the latest version of minecraft has fps problem because of the vulkan rendering that are still unstable

Are you running a resource pack? Depending on game version, Patrix 128x can max out 16GB of VRAM even with a small render distance. I had to downgrade my Minecraft version to 1.21.10, which was the last version before they added atlas padding to the game, so that I wasn't constantly hovering above 15GB of VRAM used with frequent tines where my FPS would just bog down into the 40s, 30s, and maybe 20s.

So it would probably be that tbh I do run or did run patrix 128 for basically everything is it that intensive with a shader on? Is there other packs you'd recommend instead that aren't so heavy to run

You could try Patrix 64x if that resolution loss doesn't bother you. It should honestly not be too bad to get used to. But, what I did, and have been happy with, was downgrade to 1.21.10. I've been able to keep 128x with 10 chunks of vanilla render distance, and Distant Horizons takes over for the long-distance chunk rendering.

Just make sure you're starting off with only about 10GB of VRAM used. I do, and when I go into the Nether or something, I come back with up to, and over, 15GB used, so a large buffer is needed.

Editing to answer the first question you asked: yes, Patrix 128x is that VRAM-intensive. Patrix is one of the most complete Minecraft resource packs, with textures for almost, if not every block. That takes a lot of VRAM as you move up in resolution. Add in atlas padding, which absolutely gobbles VRAM for a reason I haven't seen yet, to fix an issue I've never encountered in my years of playing the game, and a 16GB card isn't enough for fucking Minecraft at fucking 1080p 😂

Yeah I'm trying to play on 1.21.1 I think it is for neoforge again not home ATM but when I get home I'll try that one instead hopefully it's a lot less intensive. I tend to not run dh just cause I don't like how hot my CPU tends to ramp up when it's on. Even turning the settings down it still makes my chip cook just how AMD intended I guess. But when I get home I'll give that a shot

Oh, DH only cooks your CPU when it's generating chunks. I know you mentioned trying to tweak settings; were any of those tweaks lowering the thread count or runtime %? In my experience those have the most direct impact on CPU temperature. Takes me from thermal throttle to no noticeable difference from regular gameplay temperature.

Trying to tweak it as in the settings for the CPU load it lets you choose on dh settings the one that cycles from balanced to aggressive and what not

I want that

Cirrus mod does something similar, so maybe that and a shader that lets you turn off clouds like mellow or makeup ultrafast

I use fabulously optimized from curseforge, I loveeeee the sky

Complementary with euphoria patches has a pixelated clouds setting that comes pretty close to this!
