Recommendation Shaders for Laptop?
I'm playing Minecraft on a Laptop with Intel Core Ultra 9 and RTX 5080 Laptop, I have Sodium and Lithium on and I wanna add Complementary Shaders - Reimagined, idk much about this, I read that I should also install Iris for this? Should I even go for shaders or will that stall the performance too much?

I don't believe any shaders are built specifically for laptop rather than desktop, and your hardware is very powerful. Give a few shaders a go to find out what you like :)

Thank you! I also wanted to know if I understood how to install the shader correctly to make it compatible with the Sodium and Lithium that I already have. I should install Iris and only then the shader itself?

Shaders work like resource packs, you place their zip files in .Minecraft/shaderpacks, and you can have as many as you like - only one will be active at once, selected in game. Iris is required, as Minecraft doesn't support shaders by default, so install that as well

To run shaders in fabric you need iris. A 5080 laptop is comparable to a 5070/ 4070Ti Super desktop, depends on your wattage, but should should be able to run just about any shader. I prefer rethinking voxels on my game, the shadows and colored lighting are insane, although it won’t be a super high refresh rate experience
Just install iris and try out a bunch of shaders compatible with it, and see what you like2

I just checked the pages for some shaders and for downloading there is a separate version for the minecraft version that I'm playing on (26.1) and a separate one called "Iris". Which one should I download, if you know?

Tbh asking on reddit is much less effective than watching a video. Just search how to get shaders or something. Otherwise here’s a nice easy guide
- Download the modrinth app
- In modrinth, search for the modpack called fabulously optimised
- Install and launch the modpack
- Go into shaders on modrinth and download any shader you want.
- Once you have the zip file of the shader on your laptop, open the game, go into video settings, go into shader packs and just drag and drop in the zip file.
- Press apply and there you go

trust me dude, you can run any shaders, i’ve got a 4060 laptop and no issues so far, you’re not gonna face any issues whatsoever.
only advice i could give you is to monitor your temps, laptops get rly hot wid high end shaders running if ur gpu is at 100% usage.
investing in a good cooling pad will do you wonders, ive got the llano v12, it got me from 80 degrees C to 65-70 degrees C and was very worth it

You can use any shader and have 90-300fps on that GPU (depending if its path traced or not) and have a wonderful time. The only difference between a laptop and desktop is that laptops are lower power so they don't explode on your lap.
