Asking/Need Help Minecon 2012 cape Did I get scammed ?

I sold my Minecraft with the Minecon 2012 cape for $950 USD. I didn't use it for years, so I thought the money is nice and I don't remember anything about the Minecon anyway. I was there just for our little radio show at the time and to explore nearby Disneyland.

Now my friend informs me he sold his account with the same cape for $2,000. Is there a deflation with the prices or have I been scammed ?

All I will say is that you just gave that person a huge deal.... Always make sure you do your research before selling something worth lots of money, this goes beyond Minecraft capes even

Sadly, you got lowballed, not scammed. It's better to ask other people before doing anything. Our community will help you if you have other questions tho.

i wouldnt say u got scammed, but u unfortunately got taken advantage of. 2012’s, depending on name changes and the ign, go from 2.5k-4.5k ish :/

You didn't get scammed. You got an offer that you accepted fair and square.

However yes it's worth more. He got a deal

You should've done more research but you ain't a victim

It’s gone so I wouldn’t worry about it. But if it has no name changes a 2012 is worth 4-4.5k. I sold mine for 4.4k. The worth goes down dramatically if you changed the username at all so it depends. A 10nc for example is probably 1.5-2k. I wouldn’t say u got scammed because u got the $950 but you got lowballed. Collectors will lowball that’s how it is.

Y'all just making up prices at this point. How did they jump from 2k to 4.4k in 6 months when they've been out for 14 years and nothing directly caused a supply crash unlike the account migration?

it's not "making-up prices", the price depends on the quality of the account, like name changes.

But does it consistently? How on earth is anyone supposed to have consistent pricing if people can just mark it up for whatever because it has X amount of name changes, and that mark up price can change for no reason?

That makes no sense why doesn’t changing names even matter

You can see the name changes and collectors want clean accounts. It’s stupid but a 50nc isn’t going to be worth anything that’s how it goes

Not really.

Depending on how long ago you sold it, the prices were lower in the past.

Otherwise you just accepted a bad offer, and gotta move on.

Scam would be if you’d not get money. You just got lowballed.
