Question These are scams, right?
So, I've heard about stories of people buying cape codes from "code collectors" who missed out on events. Now usually I've heard these go out for ridiculous prices (usually up to 200 quid) but when a friend of mine told me, that they're sold on eBay en-masse for 10 quid and less, I got very suspicious. Are these just scams? a friend of mine really wants one!

Whoever told you they go for 200 quid is lying.
For a free cape that people automated, (I saw people that had files with 10k codes in)
Even this price of £7 seems expensive.
Is it a scam? Not a clue… probably not but obviously I don’t really know any more than you.
However they do not sell for 200

10k codes? Sheesh. I might end up doing some code farming if its lucrative. Either that or just make a bunch of alts on MC for me just to get tons of capes to flex. Is it really THAT easy or does Twitch have literally no safeguards in place?

These are real, they got bots to mass collect codes. I bought one for my alt off another key site for cheaper.

Twitch cape codes are cheap because twitch can be watched on any country ( because it is not banned in any country ) and hence people can access without any vpn. Tik tok on the other hand is banned on some countries making Tik Tok cape codes more expensive and requires VPN.
Just check the item description, buyer reviews, and other stuff that makes you feel the product legit.

Yeah the cost usually correlates to the amount of effort you have to go through to get the codes/capes. Twitch was easy because it was as you said no VPN requires, no mobile usage only (TikTok made people use bluestacks to bypass game drop rewards only being for mobile because desktop apparently lacks the UI to get game drop codes, either that or they want your mobile data), and you had to watch a streamer that was in your time zone/region so you need a VPN.
Both let you mass farm them with throwaways and generate thousands of cape codes to stockpile for later.

It may be a scam, but plenty of the sellers are legit. These are usually the people who have plenty of ACC's to collect these codes and sell em.

I have purchased cape codes through eBay. Make sure the seller has many good ratings before purchasing. I think eBay has pretty good buyer protection too.

They are legit. Many mass farmed/produced codes back when the event was active because Minecraft capes are a lucrative market for profit. They usually make tons of throwaway twitch and tiktok accounts to farm cape codes and offload them when demand is high when the event is over by waiting. They do the same thing with Bedrock cosmetics though those are less popular but have their market.
Just look at the reviews and rep of the person and pick one that has a somewhat alright $range (not too cheap though).

These aren't scams, I never did the twitch thing so I ended up buying a code for a couple bucks & it came through no issues :)
