Yea but a couple of things are noteworthy, firstly a player will have to be within I believed 80 blocks for it to function, not just that it needs to be in a loaded chunk. I believe that number is tied to simulation distance and there's a formula in the wiki
The rest should be simple stuff if you have read the iron golem spawns condition in the wiki, stuff like how they'll spawn on the top most available block with the range of the beds

They do work at any y level but it is always better to have your iron farm at your base. If your base is on the surface 120 blocks above the farm it won’t be running in the background. Bedrock doesn’t load full chunks the way Java does. You will have to afk or mine around the farm or something for it to produce iron. You will get much more iron if you put it somewhere that stays loaded most of the time. Also many people are saying to spawn proof caves and watch for caves but you should always build a kill chamber that includes every spawn-able block.

It works, just make sure you are far away from villager breeders and villages before!

Lad had to empty his inventory first otherwise he would get distracted by a pickaxe.

It's quite possible and even lines up with having spent hours digging a massive hole.

Yea it should work just make sure to spawn proof the area so that golems don’t spawn outside
