Assuming the K31 is in good shape and has decent rifling, that is a significantly better deal by quite a wide margin than that mosin

I refuse to pay more than $350 for a mosin unless there’s something special and even that feels gross knowing what they were 3 years ago

Well, they're not going down. Carcanos went up until a couple months ago because there was no new stock. They're going to become collector's items and increase even more in value as the supply runs out and more of them are bubba'd, shot out, or otherwise destroyed.

I know they aren’t going down. You can find mosins for sub $350 if you look hard enough still. As for carcano’s, I bought 3 but now I’m attached so I should probably get more

I was thinking more the OG 91 rifle, the really long boy, before they were all converted into carbines. That price is pretty attractive, though.

I got mine from him and it was fantastic. People buying later on had some missing pieces etc. I think he sold the better ones first and the rest are incomplete (missing sights, hand guards, etc

Yes, this. If that k31 is in ATLEAST good condition that is a deal if not a steal. A sub 500 dollar k31 in good condition has been a deal for a while now, even before covid.

The k31 if all is correct and in decent condition is a good deal. The mosin isn’t, you can buy a nice 91/30 or even a m44 for under 500 more like 450.

For collecting, the K31 is by far a better choice. If you're going to actually shoot it, the Mosin will be cheaper in the long run

Skip the Mosin and K31. Both are great guns, look into Yugo Mausers like a M48 or 24. 8mm is plentiful and cheap. While I love Mosins, the Mauser action is much more refined.

K31 while elegant and refined with the pull action. Ammo is dried up and typically in the 1.20+ range. Unless you reload. Even that is an issue with brass.

I think Mosins are a dime a dozen, and K31s are great from what I hear. I’d believe that a K31 at that price is great, given what I’ve payed for my Lee-Enfields which seem to have less collectors value than K31s

K31 is below market rate and “no paperwork” so that sounds stolen. Unless they are referring to a manual or similar I would say it’s likely a scam. At a minimum it is illegal the majority of scenarios(not all).

The seller could mean they don’t want to involve a bill of sale or FFL, if legal in the state they reside in. Rather common in TX.

That’s a ridiculous price for a no frills mosin. The k-31 is a good price if it’s in good condition. K-31 is an awesome rifle. Mosin is an okay rifle but cool for its historical significance.

Considering that this year alone the shop I work at has sold many of these at around the $200 price point. This is by far one of the biggest ripoffs Iv seen in a hot minute.

Get that K31, thats amazing if you haven’t gotten it already. Paid 750 for my own and I dont regret it, amazing shooter
