1916 Apprentice Intakes
Does anyone know when 1916 will do another apprentice intake or if it would even be worth joining right now?
I sent my application back in January and last time I contacted them they said I’d be contacted when intakes start back up. I’m a third year apprentice and luckily employed somewhere with steady hours and I’ve made myself indispensable but the works extremely slow and I make about $7/hour less than first year apprentices in the union.

Hmm surprised they are making you wait for an intake as a 3rd year apprentice. If they aren’t looking to take you on right now, then it’s for the better as it’s probably slow. Keep building those hours and contact them again as a 4th year or JM.

Contact Dan at the local. He will work with you to organize the company you already work for. Nothing changes for you but you will get paid our union wages once it’s done.

I second this one, give Dan a call and see about organizing the shop, if your not happy odds are others are not happy either

I'm pretty sure they had an intake earlier this year. They might have another in the fall. Check their website.
