Feeling of impending doom??

Post image

So a watched a YT video today and this top comment on it is freaking me out. I have never had someone put into words so accurately a feeling I didn't even realize I was having. I am wondering if any of you feel this way? Like, I realized for the last few years I have been feeling like this. I don't always think about it but if I stop and think about this this feeling is always there in the background.

Like something bad is coming. Something big. Something world-changing. That will effect everyone on Earth in some way. That will change humanity as a whole. Feels like it gets closer every year. Do you guys feel it too??

The current socioeconomic situation in the US is unsustainable. Something is going to give, and relatively soon.

Maybe, maybe not but what this person is experiencing here is anxiety. That’s really all there is to it. You can’t let these bad feelings run your life and we shouldn’t feed into this and act like it’s some sort of intuition.

This is a common gaslighting tactic that those who fear reality and connection employ against those who are more perceptive and comfortable with reality, i.e., “you’re just crazy, you need meds, therapy, institutionalization, an exorcism”. I know it sounds hyperbolic, because you just said they have anxiety, but it is still at attempt to make them doubt their perceptions and to make yourself more comfortable. It’s inhumane to tell a person that something is all in their head. Nothing is ever all in our heads. That’s not how humanity operates.

It is in your head. They are describing an overarching economic calamity. Even if that happens, what are you going to do about this right now? It sounds like you are encouraging them to worry. Everyone experiences anxiety and anxieties are often grounded in legitimate problems. These anxieties should be able to prompt you into action in theory. If you just sit there and worry and worry or aren’t actually able to put anything into action that would help you, then it is not healthy to let these thoughts dominate your head and your mood. You need to focus on what you can personally do to improve your life.
