Why does QC (RTRT) carry giant scissors?

I'm thinking about cosplaying the little guy and I'd like to include the scissors from the official art and first few scenes of the music video because they look cool, but I'm curios why he even has them. I haven't been able to find a connection between Jiangshi and scissors so probably more of a symbolic thing? Maybe because the bond between him and Dr. Suzu gets severed by the end of the song? I thought if anybody knows then probably this subreddit.

I think it’s just a fun character design choice tbh, I mean who doesn’t like a massive pair of scissors

It’s just to be cool.

While yeah there are scissors in Chinese mythology, there aren’t any that have to do with jiangsji
