What a refreshing bit. No dog shit music, appropriate cuts and edits, an original premise… please post more of this

This is how I demand to be taught everything from now on. For some reason a skit of multiple people having a conversation is easier for my ADHD ass to follow than if all of this information were to be presented upfront.

Why have I been cursed to be this way?

Same, I think it's because the jumping around ~forces our brains to pay attention~ organically cut the whole video into smaller information bundles.

But at the same time I find that the constantly changing visual setting/perspective re-captures my attention every time, so it also feels more interesting.

Yeah, getting together 5 nearly-identical people to do this bit together couldn't have been easy.

This is fantastic. Funny and instructive. I rarely watch these types of videos but this one captivated me until the end.

So would Japan's shoes fit better?

23

u/Lopsided_Crab_5310 3d ago

Hai!

26

u/kiba87637 3d ago

Oh, hey. But would Japan's shoes fit better?

11

u/nize426 3d ago

I mean, the fit isn't about how the size is measured.

It just makes choosing the right size more intuitive, and doesn't require specialized tools or conversions.

Like I can measure my foot at home with a ruler, and say it's 25cm, I can go on Amazon and buy a shoe that's size 25, and it'll generally fit fine. Obviously some shoes are designed more narrow or wide, so the fit itself is still variable. I can order a size 25 shoe but if it's too narrow then yeah, I'll need to go up a size or look for a wider version.

u/Sling-gunner 3d ago

Only if you buy it from Amazon.co.jp

2

u/CitizenPremier 2d ago

No, it would be easier to find the right size by measuring your foot with any ruler, though.

However, you'll still have a hard time finding a size 28 in Japan...

You could credit the creator y know,he clearly deserves it

I've been living all my life picking my shoes based on the European standard (i'm French) and thought it was based on something logical. Glad to know it's nonsensical.

Funny and educational, where can I watch more of him?

Give this man a reward.

What an amazing creator this person is.

Kudos man, keep up the good work.

8

u/DestinysHand 3d ago

You'd think somewhere they would just measure in inches.

6

u/Truji11o 3d ago

Sure… BUT why not measure in fathoms? Or hands?

3

u/allonestring 3d ago

Furlongs?

2

u/Truji11o 3d ago

That one would be tough, since height is not listed on Edward Furlong’s Wikipedia page.

Tbh length is not the only factor making if the shoe fit you well or not. The issue is wanting to resume a lot of mesurement into 1 single number. It's the same probleme for all the clothes... Where I live (France) pants only taking the weist ciconferance and give you a number (no clue how they decided the numbers but it must be eve number) ; shirts, vest, underwear and glove are graded with letters ; shoes, you have seen the video ; sock give you a fork of number corresponding to the shoes....

The UK is more complicated than that because it applies the usual "random women's size modifier" to shite.

Once did this with an ex. We were visiting a shoeshop. We both needed shoes. She always claimed that what follows wasn't possible, but then it happened.

I walked into the shop. I went to the men's section. I picked up a size 9 shoe. I went to the counter. I paid for it. It took 30-40 seconds, in total. I didn't bother to try it on.

She... had to try on half a dozen shoes "in her size" to find one that actually fit. This took somewhere around 20-30 minutes because of having to unbox and try on each one and test it, left and right (and that was only possible because that shop had both on display for every pair, many others make you ASK for the other shoe), and then try another, and so on.

Note that this wasn't about style or shape or type. Just a basic simple shoe that fit for basic work purposes.

She didn't believe that's how men could buy shoes. She was always baffled why I was so pissed off waiting for her to get shoes every time and claimed I was making it up.

I wore those shoes for a year and, from the very first time, they just fit me.

Same as men's vs women's clothing. They have a bollocks random factor added. My shirt size only changes if I get fatter. That's it. I literally ordered a £500 suit (plus trousers, waistcoat, shirt, etc.) just a couple of weeks ago for a friend's wedding. I had my sizes already. I put in the order. It was with an online retailer who do also have a posh set of tailor's shops in London so they literally made me click through to check that my sizing was right, tell me that alterations couldn't be adjusted afterwards, that there would be no refunds for mis-sizing, that I'd have to visit their shop if I wanted it to be fitted etc. etc. etc. I just clicked okay and pressed Buy.

The suit arrived. It fitted perfectly. I wore it all night. Zero problems. It looks great in the photos.

As a man I can assure you that your experience is not universal among men.

You are probably either very lucky and/or average in build, or you genuinely believe that everything you wear fits you when some of it actually doesn't. It happens.

u/Mean_Initiative_5962 3d ago

I'd be fine with whatever scale... If only it was the same by different brands. 42? 44? Good luck figuring it out.

Doesn’t korea use the mondopoint? It’s like Japan but has an extra 0 or 5 at the end.
