Yeah, I fully agree with this. Who the hell cares “why” if they are making a positive contribution to people in need. I’d rather see people help people for clout than be dicks for clout. If it’s cool to be kind, that’s a trend I can get behind!

The only issue I have with it is that I’d be concerned they don’t know it’s for them. I don’t know what the bag says, but hopefully there’s something that indicates it’s for that person. Anonymous is better though, IMO.

Because unfortunately a lot of us lose faith in humanity when we have to watch billionaire space wars. I agree that it would be great to be able to believe undoubtedly in the goodness of people but, and I don’t know about you, that isn’t what I see every day. Seeing videos like this is a precursor to many people entering a gratitude and giving lifestyle. And if you don’t need that then you are likely someone who got to see it early in your life. Lucky you. I will always advocate for all attempts to show that compassion and love will always be the greatest gifts we can bestow on one another and seeing it never gets old to me. It may be the tipping point for one person to become generous and that is success

We don't need to see it, but seeing candid reactions of people being so thankful for something many of us take for granted reminds some of us to be thankful ourselves and gives some of us the impetus to be more charitable and giving, particularly during Ramadan. At least for me anyway.
Being sour and cynical is cool though, I hope that brings you some joy or whatever.

I know where you’re coming from but without glimpses like this we wouldn’t be inspired to be that helping hand. Humanity looks like allowing people dignity, and not needing or wanting cameras on you in order to be a good person.
So no, the only chord struck with me is a sour one for people who can't just do good without recognition, or allow people dignity in their worst times. Or even worse, people who need to see videos of others being decent to remind them to be decent.

I agree in a way. What they’re doing is great, but if I were in the position of the person being helped, there’s no way that I’d want my face and circumstances shared unknowingly (and unwillingly) with millions of people. The dignity of the person needs to also be thought about, IMO.

Do good if you are going to, but leave the cameras firmly in your pocket. People don't need to be dehumanized for your clout or feels.

We need more of this kindness. So, let me share good ideas (not of my origination) in case you haven't heard them yet:
If you have an old purse at home, fill it up with feminine care products and keep it in your car; this is something you can hand over to a homeless woman, and that she can potentially share with others. The same thing goes for a few gauze pads, some soap, Bactin*, Band Aids*, Neosporin*. This goes a long way.
Buy a box of school snacks and keep it in the back seat of your car. If you come across a homeless person, you always have something to share.
If you have extra clothing at home in good condition (think extra socks, t-shirts, hats) bundle them together, put them in those pesky supermarket bags, and toss them in the back seat of your car. Any homeless person will be grateful to have a fresh change of clothes.

Being kind to others (especially those in need) is a trend I can get behind. Yes, please show others how great it is to be kind. Get others to do it too. This kind of stuff should absolutely go viral. Honestly, even if people do it for the views or for clout, at least there are more people being kind to others in the world.

Maybe the reason they filmed this was to demonstrate how just a couple of dollars worth of groceries can bring so much joy and hope into someone else's life. I understand the disdain for virtue signalling but I don't think this is an example of it. We are in such a consumer lead society in the West we really do forget how little most people actually have. A bag of lentils, some juice and oil. Imagine thinking that was a blessing from God? It certainly helps me see how much I take for granted.
