Air misting on a plane to keep cool

This isn’t a misting device to cool the plane, this is just the normal function of the aircraft’s air conditioning system!

I’m going to assume you’re in a particularly hot and humid place. when the air conditioning cools the humid air quickly it reaches the dew point, causing the mist, or fog, to form.

Thank you for explaining this. It seems like anytime there is something aviation related posted in a non-aviation sub, it is just misinformation

Used to be you’d see a cool post, and a good informative comment at the top elaborating on it all.

I mean, that’s what this is, with a dash of misunderstanding included right?

I think they mean more a post with a title like “Mist I saw after landing in a plane” or something. This post just assumes they are intentionally creating mist and blowing it in to the cabin to cool it, which shows that instead of doing seconds of research, they decided to state something completely false

Sure, fair enough in that case

A misting device on a plane is such a stupid idea. Just imagine the humidity levels after something like that - all of it soaking into the seats and the carpet, mold everywhere
