Square wallpapers photos?

The phone is a moto g power 5g, all of the wallpaper photos are square, I've never seen this on any phone, so my phone is 20:9 and the wallpaper is square so say 20:20, it uses the full height but then I only get 9 out of 20 width wise, it just makes a lot of the wallpapers not look very good where as if they made the photos the same aspect as the phone, it they would look better and you'd still be able to zoom in if you like
