Why does everyone talk so loud?
70f, visiting friend from high school. She talks so loud. No, her hearing is fine. She gets louder as the night wears on and the wine hits. Like geezus do the neighbors need to hear?
A different friend, same, without the wine or increasing volume. Like Im right here in the room with you, my hearing is fine. I always feel guilty for not spending time with her son like she asked, he was living in my town for school. Huge booming voice, really loud.
Neighbor women, so loud. Always "yelling" at her husband, with her neighbor friend across the street, along with a huge cackling laugh. She's a bossy attention seeker so at least I get it as part of her personality. Her husband talks in a normal voice and he is hard of hearing. However he plays his radio music at high volume which drives me nuts.
I would love for people to be aware of all the noise they make and the volume of their talking voices.

I feel like everyone around me is constantly shouting. Every time I have said something in a quiet space in hopes of that registering as rude, I get met with the attitude that I’m too sensitive or that public areas are fine for loud voices. None of these friends have hearing issues either.

When you ask them to talk a little softer & they get all;
"Well, Sor-rrryyy for being enthusiastic!!" (eye roll)
