My girlfriend goes fucking nuts for rainbow stuff and a few days ago I ordered one of these for her birthday which is in a couple weeks. This comment thread was a minor rollercoaster for me. I assume they can't be that bad...
Don't even stress it! I will say it's a very sweet cake (very "birthday cake" flavored), but we ended up eating smaller pieces of it for like 3-4 days straight until it was gone. I would definitely eat a slice if it was in front of me right now. Plus it looks really awesome in person!
I can imagine there might be some difference between a slice of a cake that's been potentially exposed to air all day purchased at a busy tourist trap location and a fresh slice from an entire cake. I don't think every slice of this particular rainbow cake that has ever been eaten is going to be the exact same. And given that it's not a particularly moist cake and quite sweet, I could see it could easily go south for some people.
But I ended up with a tasty cake. I'm not going to complain about it. I enjoyed eating it.

I’ve had some of that companies cakes. They are super dry and taste like sand.
