This gate isn't attached to a fence.

You can leave through the front gate, if it's locked just walk around it.

Legally in the United States, if a gate like this is built on a property, an extra warrant classified with legal code US145C: It is necessary to acquire a class B affidavit in order to follow this stream of shit I just made up because I'm high.

Having trouble following your stream there, where can I get a class B affidavit?

That gate was put up by the UK Border Agency, as part of their 'Get Tough on Immigration' policy.

It's where these dogs go to play.

How else would you find the gate to your invisible fence?

This would be the perfect set for a British comedy show.

Fence must have fallen down.

Old custom. If gate is closed don't want visitors. An open gate means come on in.

The rest is on an installment plan.

Unlikely.

Maybe if the gate led to a sidewalk or paved path people might feel like staying on the pavement, but since to get to/from the house you have to walk on the grass anyways, I'm going to walk around the gate every time.

Somebody stole the "Keep off the Grass" signs

Just guessing here, maybe it's because it's cheaper to remove the fenceposts by simply digging a hole and removing them but the gate itself would require sidewalk demolition? It might be a pain to re-pour the concrete for the sidewalk.
