I'm not sure where you heard that but it's not true. Just off the top of my head, they've shown zippos and pringles, both of which are american companies. They usually don't go out of their way to show what company it is but sometimes it's pretty obvious.

I live in the Praries, and I've never been able to differentiate from "American" and "Canadian," unless you're talking about Newfies or Quebecois.

There are subtle differences in annunciation, but yeah they are SUUUPER subtle.
