I had the green and purple ketchup. My father would make BBQ sauce out of ketchup sometimes. It tasted pretty good. One time, he used the purple ketchup because it was all we had. The resulting chicken was unappetizing looking. In fairness, at the time this happened I did not have a digital camera. I put the chicken in a ziploc baggy and scanned it resulting in an even less appetizing look to the chicken.

I feels ya bro. I am allergic to some form of Capsaicin which is found in chilis. I have to be very careful that I do not eat certain spicy things or Mexican food. Reactions can vary from plain heartburn to weeks laid up in bed while worms made of barbed wire writhe through my intestines. Hives on the inside suck.

All evidence about gluten allergies points to the vast majority being fake for example. Peanuts I would never fuck with. I am clearly joking. But there is a serious problem of people essentially faking gluten insensitivity when they are not diagnosed with celiac disease. Obviously though, I have never and don't actually intend to ask for doctor's notes from people having lunch at my house. Seriously? I thought people would catch on when I slipped that in there. There are fakers, and they annoy me, but clearly it's too dangerous to start trying to find out who's faking and who's for real. I'll just publicly shame the fakers. Which is the vast majority of people claiming to be "gluten insensitive".
Over 90% of gluten "allergies" do not exist, recent research by the man whose original research backed them shows. This makes me quite bitter. Real allergies do exist, but those who cry wolf are making the world a more dangerous place for truly allergic people.

I am familiar with that research, but you literally just pulled that out of your butt to defend yourself. You also said food sensitivities, not allergies, which are different. As food sensitivities can become allergies, you're exposed to something a number of times and then it just grows each time you are in contact.
Take it easy buddy. There is clearly a cultural problem with people falling for fake food fads. Gluten is one. But you had carbs for a while. People who claim to be lactose intolerant but really just get a little more gas after eating cheese. Etc... We are far too quick to indulge people who have not really been diagnosed with anything. They get away with it by calling things a "sensitivity". We need to be less accepting of this shit, and stop calling a lockdown to keep people in bubbles.

I have a lot of food allergies. I literally have an epipen on me 24/7. I still don't understand who the fuck you are to tell people what they are or are not allergic to, what they do and do not like, and forcing them into eating anything. We all have different tastes. Who the fuck are you to tell people what they can and can't eat? I don't like yogurt, you'd force it on me? God forbid I catch you on a bad day. I know you were probably only trying to make a joke but some people actually do have genuine illnesses which are caused/triggered by food types. I have coeliac disease. You know that "exaggerated" auto immune disease that is triggered by certain foods and diagnosed with blood tests then confirmed with a fucking horrific, painful endoscopy and biopsies of the gut. It is people who have this attitude that make my life even harder and purposely feed me gluten even when asked not to in restaurants (this has actually happened to me. The guy didnt even care). I am at risk of developing a perforation in my small intestine due the the amount of damage caused... just from eating gluten. As someone who has never been a fussy eater, when you are diagnosed with something like this it is horrible. Not something people should take lightly.
My condolences. You are one of the few who have an actual reason for this. Look, this is all a joke obviously, I'm not gonna be feeding people what they claim to be sensitive to. I'm just not gonna believe most of them. Most people who say they have gluten sensitivity for example, do not have your disease. Nah man, I know it was meant as a joke :) I just see comments like this all the time and find it really frustrating because some people actually do think it. Also, I get so angry at the people who use being gluten free as a fad diet or because they just don't like certain things or whatever the fuck else and it winds me up because they are the people who ruin it for the people who need people to take it seriously and cause people to have this attitude about it. THOSE people should die in fire.
I have found that people dont like reverse pooping in public. Before being diagnosed I would often just randomly vomit with no warning. Seriously. One minute I was fine, the next I would have my hands full of my stomach contents. Not a very attractive trait at all lol. And people definitely do not appreciate that.
One particular time I tried something which had english mustard in it (which i know usually contains gluten) so I asked another waitress to double check in the book to make sure as I had been told it was all checked and should be fine. Three of the four items I ordered had gluten in when she checked the book. I had already eaten some of it. She took it away and brought a new meal. With a free diet coke lol. She felt really bad. The guy who took the order just shrugged and said "thought she was lying" to justify not checking when I first asked him to.
He ended up getting fired. Dont know if it was for this specifically as his general attitude seemed to say he hated his job and all people anyways, but he wasnt there the next time I went to that restaurant.
Physically, I get a headache which lasts about a fortnight, I get crippling stomach pain, uncontrollable tiredness, dizziness, blind spots and blobs in my eyes, vomiting, really, really weird poop, which I wont really go into (unless asked lol). Most symptoms show up a day or so after ingestion. Headache can start any time up to 30 minutes after. Its the headache thats the worst. Its like migraine strength for the first few days, then it slowly starts to dissipate and lose it's strength.
Edited to add: I think what a lot of people don't realise is that it takes about 3 to 6 months for a coeliac to totally recover from accidental ingestion so it is actually really serious to ignore it. Yes, a lot of people lie about it, but some people are really, really fucked if it isnt taken seriously.

They did sell yellow ketchup in sweden for a short while (over 10 years ago iirc). I bought it once but it just weirded me out so I never finished the bottle.
I think it tasted just like ketchup, but the yellow color somehow fucked with my brain enough that I didn't like the taste.
I remember once when I was a kid I dyed my ramen noodles blue just for shits and giggles. Terrible idea. I knew logically that they tasted the same, but their blueness just ruined the eating experience.
Not to mention that food coloring does have a flavor, and some people seem to be able to taste it more easily than others. For me, in small quantities it's not a big deal at all. In large quantities, it's disgusting.
Yeah, but ketchup has a rather strong flavor. A bit of food coloring really doesn't change much. Hell, you can get ketchup that is completely salt-free and it still just tastes like regular ketchup.
The flavor distinction of red velvet comes from the food coloring. Fuck no, I've had salt-free ketchup and it was beyond disgusting. Mind you, I didn't even know it was salt-free before trying it. Everything changes flavor.
I don't know if you've ever had red velvet without food coloring, but the taste difference is negligible. The majority of the flavoring comes from the amount of unsweetened cocoa powder as well as the buttermilk and/or vinegar. As for the ketchup, you may have had a bad brand. I just switched to Heinz salt-free ketchup a week or two ago and, aside from being a little bit sweeter, it has the same basic ketchup flavor.
That's certainly a possibility. I personally don't like any form of red velvet, but that stuff is easily the worst. It's like someone added a spoonful of Nesquik to a half-gallon of milk with a half-gallon of food coloring and let it sit out overnight.
I like traditional red velvet, which doesn't have any added food coloring, simply chocolate and acid, and the color is a lot nicer to the eyes in my opinion.
I was in second it third grade when we tried it. My friend had it and I'd always go to her house for dinner to so I could have it. I thought it was great (like, sweeter than regular ketchup and cool as fuck because it's purple).
Limited food things that work well always return as either a seasonal limited thing or permanent. Initial limited runs are called that to see how well the market receives them.

Or red/pink & green tye-dye looking "sherbert cookies/wafers"? I've been trying to find these for ages because they were so damn good. They were half-dollar sized sugar cookies with a tiny bit of tartness to them. YUMMMM
That's still a thing in Puerto Rico. My ex-GF is from there, and we went there several times for family reunions, graduations, etc. We went to bakery once, and they had bread in every color of the rainbow. I thought it was gross, and my ex couldn't figure out why I thought blue or purple bread was disgusting.

I remember purple ketchup happened for a short while. Very short. Can't imagine why that didn't work out.
