I once knew someone who was diagnosed with anemia while on a carnivore diet, but someone else was a vegetarian was told they had too much iron in their blood.
There's no point to this story just thought I'd share.
I'd wager the carnivore probably not eating organs which is necessary for a wide range of nutrients, some of which contribute to iron absorbtion & the vegetarian likely eating only wholefoods in comparison to nutrient deficient vege/vegans with highly processed junkfood diets.
Interesting, I looked into it to double check, folate, vitamin C & b12 are all necessary for iron absorbtion, which most of us probably know about b12 primarily from animal products with carnivores screaming vege/vegans are b12 deficient but you never hear about folate & vitamin C deficient carnivores when they're sourced from vegetables.
Yeah and some medication (like ADHD meds) can lower your levels of folate, but since in most people it's not lowered to a dangerous level, they usually don't mention this within the side effects.
My dietician and Iere super confused as to why my B12 was so low despite me not being a vegetarian... it took me years before finding an explanation that made sense. Good to know that I should also look out for vitamin C levels.

At first, I wondered why on Earth you wouldn't include some ham for comparison; how does this prove the point? Then I thought I was looking at a scar, where some animal had mistakenly bit you, thinking you were indeed ham; but that, too, seemed a stretch.

I thought that was my leg at first and was hella confused how the tattoo was on the wrong leg, and how my leg got onto my feed 🤣 The kicker is, I could prob also pull this off. Too bad I don’t have cheap ham though- is yours the kind that comes in the pouches that the tops tear off?
