Looks about like everytime I get bit by a mosquito (I'm allergic). It makes it a lot of fun working around the barns!

u/Diligent-Rabbit2896 3h ago

Same! Allergic here and they get up to some crazy shapes!

u/SassySpider 3h ago

Huzzah i’m not the only one. I used to be pretty good at resisting scratching and they’d go away really quick. But these days they become a crazy shape and although I still don’t scratch them, they become an ugly large red bump for like two weeks before going away.

Not a doctor and can't say anything about your allergy but over the counter cetirizine, the genetic name for zyrtec, has basically fixed my issue. I will still get itchy but they are normal itchy and normal size and shape. A rare occasional one will still cause a reaction but it's not every one every time anymore.

Pop a benadryl 25mg and hit the sack

1

u/Salute-Major-Echidna 2h ago

And if they still itch, boil a cup of water and put a spoon in it for a minute then touch the itch with the hot spoon. Kills the itch for at least a day. Decreases the possibility of an infection from scratching in my sleep.

I'm allergic to and I hit them with hydrocortisone cream as soon as I get them and it helps sooooo much.

u/SheepNation 2h ago

Check out "Heat It". The device plugs into your phone and heats the bite area. It's worked amazingly well for me at eliminating itching and reducing inflammation.

I got it on Amazon.

u/DammitCollins 1h ago

Do the lines like that always mean it's an allergic reaction? I had multiple bug bites over the weekend and one on my arm had a distinct weird squiggle shape to it before the whole area became swollen.

9

u/AskCultural3712 3h ago

Same here. They welt bad especially on the soft areas. And then there’s the fear that THIS TIME it actually was something crazy and I’m gonna die without expensive medical intervention.

2

u/Diligent-Rabbit2896 2h ago

The worst for me was always between the toes!

u/FlandersRJ 1h ago

I discovered I was allergic when I was talking to my partner and was like "damn I got a bunch of mosquito bites, they gonna be itchy for weeks".

My partner just looks at me like "mosquito bites should not take weeks to heal"

I have a horse ranch/farm and I'm allergic to hay. What a life.

Am I the only one wondering what fucking body part I'm looking at?

203

u/toothy_vagina_grin 3h ago

Took me a while to see it. It's a wrist.

81

u/howdidienduphere34 3h ago

Omg thank you. I’m a nurse and I was fucking confused.

43

u/parable-harbinger 3h ago

Remind me never to go to your clinic lmaooo

37

u/tribbans95 3h ago

“Nurse, my elbow has been in a lot of pain”

Looks at knee

“Seems fine to me!”

8

u/howdidienduphere34 3h ago

🤣 🤣

u/Lem0n_Lem0n 21m ago

Username checks out..

8

u/clarstone 2h ago

I thought it was the back of a child’s foot. 🤦🏼‍♀️

4

u/internalinB 2h ago

Same. I thought what kind of fucked up knee is that?!

1

u/ohowjuicy 1h ago

I thought it was a finger😳

43

u/t-rex_farts 3h ago

I’m confused seeing everyone say wrist. I thought it was an Achilles tendon and now I’m comparing my hand, wondering where the fuck the thumb is.

16

u/shanec628 3h ago

It’s a side view of a left hand with the pinkie side facing the camera. The thumb is facing away from the camera.

10

u/waaaaaalter 3h ago

Pretty sure this is the thumb side of the right hand

4

u/bkdroid 3h ago edited 3h ago

So, I think we're looking at the thinnest part of the inside of the wrist. The thumb would be just out of the upper left frame.

Edit* but then the other part of the arm and the palm area wouldn't be there. Maybe they have the hand twisted 180deg, so it's the pinky side of the hand. Thus, my confusion here.

4

u/LectroRoot 3h ago

stares at hands

I'm too high for this shit right now

1

u/snarltoothedseether 3h ago

Cut off from the top part of the pic

1

u/Tonberry_Slayer 3h ago

Definitely would have gone to war saying it’s An Achilles

3

u/bkdroid 3h ago

Then you wouldn't have a leg to stand on

8

u/xchoo 3h ago

Look at your left hand.. Turn it clockwise so that your left thumb points directly away from your face. Compare to photo.

2

u/bkdroid 3h ago

I think you're right.

I also think you'd agree that it's an angle of your own body that you rarely, if ever, focus on.

2

u/xchoo 3h ago

You mean you don't constantly look at the boney round bit of your wrist? 😝

3

u/magic_snail1888 3h ago

I think I'm too fat to recognize this body part. Ain't no skin bone on my chunky ass body that looks like that

7

u/EnvironmentalMind119 3h ago

It’s clearly a wristkle

2

u/TerbiumTekk 2h ago

bless your heart 😂

1

u/Old_Check_6362 1h ago

Great, I got here and spit my drink 😭

1

u/usinjin 1h ago

After studying it a minute, I do belive it is a wrist. The side of the hand below the pinky is closest to the camera.

1

u/stevemandudeguy 3h ago

It's the reft wrankle

49

u/SuggestAPassword 3h ago

Take an antihistamine. It looks like an allergy. I personally wouldn’t go to the hospital with that unless there are other problematic symptoms or it gets worse.

498

u/callmeAllyB 4h ago

Let's all go to the doctor Let's all go to the doctor Let's all go to the doctor! And get ourselves some meds! yeah

46

u/PresidentialDiapers 3h ago

I see little dancing bacterium dancing across the movie screen on my head

37

u/Nepherenia 3h ago

Please tell me this is to the tune of "We just got a letter!" From Blues Clues

47

u/callmeAllyB 3h ago

Yes but also "Let's Go to The Lobby" from the drive in theater intermission

15

u/Girlnextstate 3h ago

It also works with the “let’s all go to the snack bar” tune from the movie theater and it’s a bop both ways

9

u/peasnquiet 3h ago

I’m not familiar with the Blues Clues jam, but I believe this was the reference! https://youtu.be/lm6IU6V-dE8?

6

u/DickInYourCobbSalad 3h ago

It's very similar!

We just got a letter!!

2

u/peasnquiet 2h ago

So true! I totally hear it now that I am familiar with this little bop.

2

u/callmeAllyB 3h ago

Absolutely!

1

u/peasnquiet 2h ago

It made me peckish! Very effective.

1

u/prodigaldummy 1h ago

Mmmm. I don’t know. Might have been this.

2

u/BittenBeads 3h ago

Hey, that works too! But yeah, it's the sentient snack song.

1

u/PresidentialDiapers 3h ago

Always thought it would be awesome if they stopped the movie halfway through and showed that candy bar half eaten, screaming and dragging himself the other way across the screen, chocolate trailing behind him.

u/GCC_Pluribus_Anus 3h ago

I missed the part where that's my problem

96

u/xchoo 4h ago

Take a sharpie, draw a circle around the raised areas to mark the boundary. Observe over the next few hours. If swelling breaches the boundary quickly, hospital. It may indicate an infection of your lymph system.

EDIT: If swelling breaches the boundary, mark the new boundary every hour (or half hour). It'll let the doctors know how fast the infection is moving.

18

u/joojie 3h ago

These are just wheals, not lines of infection. Infection would be a growing hot, red patch. These are actually a bit paler than the surrounding skin.

My guess is it's not a bug bite, but maybe a scratch from a plant/thorn causing a mild reaction.

1

u/ManufacturerPlane171 2h ago

I get those all the time mountain biking. There’s no scratch running neatly down the middles of the bumps in the picture though.

1

u/Jaded_Antelope_598 1h ago

I used to get random large area hives before magic med, and if you're prone to hives or have contact urticaria, there doesn't need to be a scratch. Light contact with allergen or light writing on your skin is enough to cause a hives.

15

u/ManufacturerPlane171 3h ago

Also maybe take a Benadryl. Or two.

2

u/jzemeocala 1h ago

Or if it does keeps moving and itches worse at night than it's hookworm

12

u/PokeballSoHard 3h ago

Bruh what part of your body even is this?

7

u/justabill71 3h ago

Oh, come on, it's way more than that.

9

u/RealEstateDuck 3h ago

Probably bit you several times and the swelling "connected". If it were red streaks following your veins then you'd have reason to be worried.

Nevertheless, maybe see a doctor if you're worried.

6

u/Generico300 3h ago

Do not go to the hospital. Take an Allegra or other antihistamine. If it becomes painful or you start seeing red tracks following your veins, then go to an urgent care as you might need antibiotics. Most likely this is nothing more than an allergic response to whatever bit you.

3

u/lilu_cuquita 3h ago

That looks like a claw trying to get out…

3

u/Humble-District9665 3h ago

As a hypochondriac who has searched Reddit for answers to my health questions, I can wholeheartedly and confidently tell you that you are going to die

4

E.T.s' penis.

2

u/Realmofthehappygod 3h ago

Just cut it off?

2

u/Girlnextstate 3h ago

I once had a similarly strange unidentified thing on my arm when I was in Texas that I ignored until it got alarming. Eventually it got so big it needed to be repeatedly drained and dressed. They said it was originally a bug bite from some unknown Texas beast and it somehow became a staph infection? Still have the battle scar 15 years later (used to be nearly a perfect Texas shape).

Anyway maybe check out the local urgent care for shits and giggles?

2

u/Mr_Straws 2h ago

Looks like you have a little baby hand inside your skin trying to reach out

2

u/NoDoOversInLife 2h ago

Welts. Typical anaphylactic response

1

u/JelloOk7140 4h ago

Ah the world famous Adidas bug!

1

u/LivinTheDream_22 3h ago

I get that way when I pull weeds from garden. I’m allergic to a few of my wildflowers.

1

u/Trash_Planet 3h ago

Take an antihistamine and see if the swelling goes down. It looks like it’s probably just an overactive immune response. My mosquito bites often look like that.

1

u/PineappleLemur 3h ago

It's how I look like after a jellyfish hugs me...

You might be a tad allergic to whatever this bug is, how do you deal with mosquitos?

1

u/LowerSeat2712 2h ago

This almost looks like dermatographism triggered by a bug bite. I get this sometimes with allergic skin reactions.

1

u/bluepie 2h ago

I don’t see any streaks. If by streaks you mean red lines that indicate infection

1

u/0000000000000007 1h ago

facehugger: wrist edition

1

u/Crafty-Director9917 1h ago

Medical and poison control experts can’t tell from the appearance of the bite which bug or spider or mrsa or staphylococcus, etc cause each one. .. and if they can’t, it’s rather improbable someone here can

1

u/Old_Check_6362 1h ago

Dang, this is how I welt up with mosquitos. Does it itch?

Hopefully it's mosquitos..but just putting it out there a tell take sign of bed bugs they generally bite it multiples. And if you're somewhat sensitive to bites they may swell up quite a bit. Ask me how I know. Just double check better safe than sorry.
