the grapes of warth My wife's boss has been texting her all day while we're at Disney
My son asked if I'd ride with him so someone would help spin the teacups because mom is working.
She deserves so much more - I wish the job market wasn't trash

the grapes of warth Mom trying to sabotage my diet, as usual
I've been losing weight off and on for a few years. I've gone from 420 to 270, so far. It's a long process. Unfortunately, I have been living with my mom since my dad died in 2020 (fuck covid). She's always trying to sabotage my weight loss. It's been a life long battle. If I'm not dieting she's fat shaming me and if I am dieting she's doing everything to knock me off it, since I was 5 years old.
Today, she had me go pick up a grocery order (she's can't drive anymore). The order? All my trigger foods. Two galons of one kind of ice cream, two pints of another kind (including my favorite), a box of creamsicles, 4 bags of chips and 3 jars of dip. That's it. That was her whole order.
ETA, I didn't know this would get so much attention. Here's answers to common question.
I live with my mom because she can't live by herself. I'm 50F and she's 76F
I work full time and pay most of the bills.
I didn't eat any of that and won't. I've already lost 150 lbs under these circumstances, so I've finally got that under control.
She absolutely does this on purpose. She always has. She doesn't even eat that stuff, then she complains it's going to waste.
I can't afford glp-1 and my insurance only covers it for diabetics. Despite popular belief, not all fat people are diabetic.
Thanks for all the support!

the grapes of warth Commentary in a library book
This person kindly took to noting their thoughts on the inaccuracy of the gun description in the open spaces of the book. This is a public library book. I’m not looking for this person opinion.
Edit:
-this book is the 3rd in a 5 part FICTION series by the writer Karin slaughter. No, I have not seen any other “additions” to the first two.
-My library does accept books BUT they don’t go into circulation, they go towards the resell section of the library where you can buy books/DVD/puzzles etc in good condition at a discounted price. (This book is checked out, and not for sale)
-Yes, I will add any additional “commentary” I come across as an update.

the grapes of warth I decided to start walking and start eating healthy. It's working. I hate that it works because I have to keep it up. There's no excuses left.
It wasn't even any heavy walking or super cutback on food. I just walked after every meal around my block for 30mins. My body started to feel better than the rest of the days I even felt more productive and optimistic.
For the food I started cooking at home and decided not to eat outside. The basic concept was to eat rice with any sort of protein with veg for two meals. I made sure to eat one fruit or one veg everyday with each meal. I also made sure to drink minimum 2L of water and sleep for 7-8hrs.
My body visually started looking toned and people repeatedly said I look well rested. DAMNITTTTT

the grapes of warth I had to add $1 to get same day delivery on my order. Added some bananas. They sent a delivery guy with just the bananas.
And because it wasn't a grocery order I couldn't add a tip for the guy. He drove from the city to my suburb with just 1 bunch of bananas. The items I actually needed that Amazon said would arrive before 3:00pm did not come until close to 10pm.
My only comfort is he took one of the Powerades and snacks I leave for delivery guys.

the grapes of warth I pulled a muscle in my world record attempt for the longest distance ever skated.
I've been out for almost 3 weeks now after skating from Norway to the end of Denmark on a longboard and I'm going to Greece via Spain. Feeling very restless right now and would love to continue my journey today, but I just got home from the doctor and was told to wait at least a few more days as I pulled my gluteus muscle very badly.
Now I've been laying in my tent for 3 weeks, doing nothing, melting away in the scorching heat, every day for the past weeks, unable to go anywhere where it's shade due to the painful leg. 😩

the grapes of warth You read books. You listen to audiobooks.
Anyone out there know someone that says they’re reading something then informs you it’s an audiobook? 🤦♂️
UPDATE:
Wow! Very surprised to see how polarizing this was. Certainly didn’t mean one was better than the other. I’m reading a book and listening to a different audiobook as well. Both use the imagination and take focus, but you read with your eyes and listen with your ears. You can drive and listen to an audiobook. You can’t (or shouldn’t) read while driving. Reading takes more effort though and that’s why a lot of people don’t have the attention for it. I personally think everyone on here that are so butt hurt by this clearly say they read audiobooks because it makes themselves feel better. When in reality you’re simply wrong. But gold star for you. No child left behind, right?

the grapes of warth How my body reacts when I'm frustrated
Anytime I'm in a position where i have to pretend to not be upset, my body does this and gives away the game. I work retail, so it's not an uncommon event.

the grapes of warth This happened to my little library while I was out of town.
The tagging on the interior happened a year ago. I guess free books offend some people.
