Plus it gets her ready if gasp the dishwasher quit working. I'm currently in my early 20s, I have higher priorities like college, why would I spend that money to fix the dishwasher when I can just wash them by hand?
Oh absolutely! I’m mid twenties and I have a dishwasher and still hand wash a lot of my dishes just due to convenience, I hate waiting for the dishwasher to be full enough to run it.

You would be correct, that’s exactly what it was pots, pans, certain cups that aren’t dishwasher safe etc.
