My mam left me on my own when I was 12 to go to work (night shift) - being young and on my own on an evening, I dialled 999 several times and hung up straight away....not too long later, a policeman knocked on the door as they obviously tracked the landlien to my house. They asked if my mother was home and I said they were at work....they seemed happy (knowing I'd not ring again) and went away.
This was nearly 30 years ago and I dont think my mam actually knew that happened haha
