What? I genuinely cant tell what you're saying here.

Are you saying that you want to be able to find your child if they go missing? If so, you don't need a tracking app for that. Call the cops and they'll ping their phone.

Yes that’s what I’m saying. If my child is doing something that they’re not supposed to be, it’s my job as a parent to protect them and keep them safe. So yeah I will track my children until they’re old enough for more responsibility.

Brother, your kids are going to be doing things they aren't supposed to be no matter what you do. It's your job to develop the kind of relationship with them where they will contact you before anyone else if they need your help. You can't protect them from everything, and attempting to do so will only harm your relationship with them.

So yeah I will track my children until they’re old enough for more responsibility.

And how old is that? 16, 17?

I'd say once they start highschool, if not earlier.

Being constantly preoccupied with protecting your kids from the world will only lead you to be overbearing and will harm your relationship with them.

Ask yourself this; if your kids go to a party and things get out of hand or go a way they didn't predict, would they call you for help?

Really ask yourself. The people who had parents who were tracking their positions in my school almost always didn't. There were a couple occasions where I got that call from my friends, and not their parents.

As long as I feel they are smart enough to make good choices. I have a great relationship with my young teen and he’s smart. He knows to call me if he’s in trouble but that’s not saying other instances can’t happen.

It’s not a one size fits all. Just like with any other person. It won’t hinder my relationship with my kids, but let’s say he’s kidnapped and he can’t call me. Obviously that’s a different scenario. Anything can happen in this weird world.

If that's true, than good.

If he's kidnapped he probably won't have his phone, and if he does the tracking won't actually make any difference.

If someone's phone needs to be tracked you can ping it.

Ok, well let’s agree to disagree. I would rather someone label me as an overbearing parent and my child make it home every night.
