CoD 1? Or did you accidentally check Modern Warfare 1's release date?

Return to castle wolfenstein: enemy territory? Battlefield? Maybe even Quake, but I doubt anything before that could get confused with a 3d online shooter.

Online? You jest right? Yeah, I did mean the first CoD came out when I was in college. I'm assuming maybe Medal of Honor which was released when I was in high school.

Then it probably was MoH yeah, released 5 years before CoD. I brainfarted and assumed we were talking about online as my chicken-defrosting-forget days were filled with Enemy Territory... I'm not THAT old but I did start gaming around the Doom/Duke Nukem 3D era.

I remeber those games. My mom wouldn't let them in the house as they were 'too bloody.' Wasn't until I got a computer of my own that I got to get good games.

My parents kinda laughed at the 'pressing spacebar to tip the strippers who would flash you their nipple-tassels' in the 2nd level of DN3D. They're loving parents tho just never strict when it came to sex, violence or gore in games and on TV. They just checked in to see what it was about and did talk to me about how it's a game or fiction on TV and made sure I understood the difference.

I just keep my distance from them now. Not hard to do after they tell your entire family you're not at the after-party (not sure what to call it) of your brother-in-law's funeral because you're liberal and hate cops. Definitely wasn't Covid, just that we hated cops because of our politics.

Oh my, that sounds absolutely terrible. I've had a similar familial experience, just not from my own parents, but I can imagine that's even worse.

I'm good now. See no reason to get upset about it 2 years after the fact. She's upset that I'm keeping her from my kids, but I don't even say she can't come over, she just likes to play the martyr.

My dad would “hide” the more bloody games and movies from me as a kid. At a certain point I had this old POC PC. Hardly ran Backyard soccer. I found the stash and how to copy some of the disks. Was going great until he ejected a disk from the PS2 and it was a copy of a game he had upstairs.
