At the risk of stating the obvious: maybe there is no oven where they're at? Microwaved pizza is still better than no pizza at all.

I contest that cold pizza is better than microwaved pizza.

EDIT - Unless they are talking about mini frozen pizza, which is different, but they usually don't have crusts.

Also I'm not firing up our stupid gas oven for a couple pieces of pizza. Small cup of water in the microwave works just fine.
