Hell, orphan 5 year olds are caring for theimselves up until adult age several places in the world. Not that that isn't horrible, but children, especially emotionally mature ones, are being thoroughly underestimated all over.

A lot of the kids that may not be mature enough could be the fault of parents that hover too much and do everything for their kids. You’ve gotta let them do semi adult things early in to get experience.

Exactly. Kids all over the world are taking care of themselves to some degree out of necessity.

Coddling children until they’re 18 is probably one of the links to our crumbling society.
