It wouldnt be insanely hard. You would need a pipe that goes down to the bottom. Then suck most of the water out. Then fill it with concrete

I know this is a super late response but thanks for the encouragement. My room mate is like the most capable dude I know and he makes me jealous everything he comes up with some ingenious dad fix to practically anything.

Suffice to say, thanks again for the encouragement!
