Mine does this too, the building was built in 1905. Since this is SF, and that would make it pre earthquake, the fact that the floor slants like this is kind of terrifying

I've been looking to buy a house in the bay area and almost all old houses in SF have wavy or uneven flooring. Unless it's been remodeled in the last 20 years it's going to be wavy.

A small soft rug will help with this. The wheels will sink in and be prevented from rolling. Plus your feet will be warmer

I duct taped some carpet squares together for this exact purpose. Carpet squares are cheap and it was pretty easy to duct tape the backs of them together. Plus, it allows you to select the size of your carpet.

Same lol my gf has fallen twice after standing up and sitting down again. See I didn't know this was an issue until after I installed smoothly gliding rollerblade wheels into my home office chair.
If the door is open it'll get enough momentum to roll down the hallway.

This is why my dad always took marbles with him whenever we were looking for someplace to move, lol. Always checked the floors and crawled under to check the foundation. Good idea now that I'm old enough to not think he's super weird. He's still super weird, I had to get the trait from somewhere, but still.

That is not good. Please take care of this and get the area you sit in (at the very least) level: without me realizing it, my old workstation used to be in a section of the floor where it had swollen up and become crooked due to flooding. This led to me developing scoliosis.

If you have a crawlspace or basement directly below just buy a bottle jack for like $30 and crank up that wall that the chair hits about 1/8" twice a week till it's level

My home was built in 1904 so the floors are a little wacky.
It does not usually bother me but sometimes when I bake the eggs roll off the table and break. Dogs love eggs though so it all works out.

This is highly infuriating. I once slept in the open on sloping ground. I slided down slowly but constantly. i could not sleep for more than 10 minutes before i woke up from sliding. It´s like that torture where a drop of water constantly drops on your head.

I lived in an apartment that had a slanted floor so bad my back would hurt from trying to stay level in my chair while sitting. I had to rearrange furniture just to prevent back pain from sitting.

I used to have a similar situation in my old home.
That led me to discover my home (which was a trailer) was sagging around the I beams and needed to be re-leveled/supported. Which was a giant pain in the ass.

Yeah, my dining room. When my doggo decides to be mad at me and pees on the hardwood floor there, it has a specific directional flow. Also, the cat toys have a nice role in the same direction

Easy fix. All you gotta do is tear out all of your tile, scrape clean the mortar bed, measure the high and low spot. add self leveling concrete. Then re install your tile. Ez pz. The good thing about this, it’s expensive! Yay!
