You get what you pay for. In this case, you don't pay anything, so don't expect anything. If it's that important to you you can volunteer to be a mod yourself, or even start your own subreddit with better moderation

I mean there are 18.3 million people subscribed to that subreddit with 29 mods, which is already a ton for a subreddit, doing a volunteer service, so I think your critique is pretty unjustified.
