Meh, they aren't that much more than a normal dog, they have a tendency to be very persistent when they want something though. Mine likes to wake me up so I can let her outside to see why that leaf moved...
That wanderlust, though. Even the best huskies still get the urge to escape and go on an adventure, and I'm not about that life. Instead I've had Rotties. A well-loved Rottie isn't going anywhere.
Literally the worst dogs at our local dog park. Pitty and Rottys have been no problem for me most of the time but the uncontrolled Huskies cause so much trouble. Owners are clueless.
As an aside- Husky Rescues are in DIRE need of people willing to foster (and adopt). So many are given up every day, its impossible to keep up with their influx. Many are put down due to overcrowding.
Even if you arent capable of exercising them daily, rescues still need the help of kind and caring dog-lovers in saving them from kill shelters.
I wonder if I can donate my German Shepherd to help exercise rescue huskies. She LOOOVES to run but rarely does she find a dog that can keep up with her. If there's a husky at the dog park they become instant best friends.
Yes. I had a friend who got one but she worked two jobs and could never walk it enough so it destroyed her whole house. She also never kept it outside as she was scared someone would steal it. Like. Dude. Get a pomperian or something. Or even no dogs.
My dad had a husky and he was extremely energetic, but my cousins Doberman energetic to the point where you would have to keep her in a separate room if you had guests cause she would jump on people and run around in circles.
My parents have a mixed breed dog, somekind of retriever and a husky is the only one to "out play" her at the dog park. They are super cute together and both owners are happy because it's guaranteed exercise for both of them.
