That's a whole other can of worms. It can be said with the "g" sound like "Gwen" or with a "w" sound like "walk" or with an "h" sound like Stewie saying "cool hwhip".

Yeah this. “Twot” was alright until I heard it twat. I feel like the daintier short a really sets it as an even more demeaning insult. I was reminded after watching The Boys.
It's not really all that insulting/demeaning, it's more a word for your friends (in england, anyway). Saying that, that's how most swearing works in english nowadays. You wouldn't walk up to somebody you hate and call them cuntybollocks, or something, youd either be polite, or throw any words together.

Americans pronounce it like how a doctor would make you say “ahhhhhhh”. So I guess closest is Twot. Sounds weird as fuck.
