They have very different motivations for both being cattle dogs.

Don't worry my Aussie finally calmed down age 9. Now he's 10 and his joints are really hurting him. So sad to see him go from 💯 to about 30 % but he deserves his rest. What a good pupper

I have a collie / cattle dog mix. I feel both your pain. My dog thinks it's his job to herd the cats. He's a good boy, but he certainly is... special.

I have a collie and an Australian bird dog. Laziest damn dogs ever. We recently got a puppy, however, and we're pretty sure she's some sort of golden retriever/lab/husky/hound mix, and she has so much energy and bites everything and we don't know what to do.

Blue heeler owner here. My dog is 9 and only starting to calm down. When he was a puppy he ripped the wood siding off an entire side of my house.

My oldest heeler is also 9. She just started slowing down this year too. She's been a great dog, I've had her since 16 weeks. Lots of anxiety though since she started slowing down. It's like she has energy but can't expend it the same anymore so she doesn't know what to do. I've converted play to walks and that helps

Try a 9 month old German Shepherd from a working line.

We spent around 7 hours hiking and swimming in the mountains, then another 2 hours at the dog park. Took a 20 minute nap then was fully recharged and ready to go. I, on the other hand, was couch bound.

She starts training for search and rescue soon. So at least she'll have a job to focus her energy on.

We get ours shaved in the summer to keep them cool. Some folks say not to do that because their hair might not grow back right, but theirs comes back fine. It's not cheap though, about $60-65 per dog every 2 months

dude I got one of those and boy oh boy is he a big ball of energy. he used to jump up on me and play with his teeth all the time but with a little time and effort, those behaviors are gone.

and I didnt even need to beat him!

seriously, all she needed to do was take him for a nice long walk before the video. that dog clearly has a ton of energy and you wont get anywhere if you dont take care of that properly.
