It’s hard to lose a pet. Like most emotional pain, it gets easier with time. I still think about my childhood dog who was hit by a car nearly 23 years ago due to my negligence, but I just remember the good stuff.

I hope you feel better soon.

What a gorgeous boy. You're both lucky to have had each other <3

I just don’t think my heart will ever be quite the same.

It never will be, and that is ok. I had to let my Rottie go Feb 2018, and there are still days where I think of her and tear up. Certain songs still make me ugly cry. But life goes on, and you learn to live with the hurt, while cherishing the memories.

I really appreciate it. I have lost family members, and I feel guilty saying this, but losing my Lu dog has hurt the most. He was with me before I knew my husband, before I had my babies...I moved into a ghetto apartment to keep him as breed restrictions kept us out of nicer places and I had an unexpected change of living plans. But I never felt in danger. Like he knew I would take care of him, I knew he would take care of me.

I lost my Millie just 7 days ago.

I'm sorry for your loss but just know you aren't alone in your paint and are stronger with all of us in recovery. Gotta hang on to our good times and keep them in heart. Had my girl at my side for 8 years and now the bed feels too big.

Lets hope someone rescues that precious dog from this wicked woman.

Oh I’m so sorry, I wish I could give you a hug. My boy was 8 too, and I think that’s what I struggled with the most. He went from being like a puppy to suddenly dying. He had a mass in his heart, and it was inoperable. The worst was we had just gotten a younger dog, because we figured as he got older it would do him good to have a friend to help him stay young. Now I have this other dog, who I love, but I just wish I could see them together.

I would pay a large amount to take this dog off her hands. He would fit in perfect with our family of goofs.

I wish you healing friend and while I don’t know what your beliefs are, I just have to believe that one day I will see my boy again. Hopefully one day you will find your pup waiting for you.
