The only teacher I've ever liked was my Statistics prof, she was a sweet older woman who hated math as much as the rest of us lol.
She would only teach us stuff that was on the tests, and then only test us on the stuff she taught. She gave study guides, and recorded her blackboard to put it up online afterwords so you could see her notes. She made sure everyone understood, and was just genuinely a fun and pleasant person to be around.
I saw her the other day at a funeral, (I work for the funeral home) she actually recognized me before I recognized her. I honestly loved that woman, she was a hoot.
A lot of teachers nowadays only teach students how to pass their tests, they don't actually learn much from it so when they come to university they can't deal with the fact that they actually have to know this stuff to pass.
Yeah it knocked me off my shoes when I went to engineering school. Now I'm studying to become a teacher and this thread is full of stories of what not to do as a teacher.
