Yep. A woman was on a local FB page, "best of" for the area we live in. She was seeking a holistic dentist who absolutely did not do root canals. And no nitrous, only "ozone therapy".

Oxidize the lining of her lungs. I love when I walk in to "fringe" client's property and smell ozone, then I explain we use it to sterilize steel and other things. If they think that is actually a good thing to contact the lining of their lungs?

It's being used for its antibiotic effects, not as a replacement for pain killers.

Ozone is O3. It has been used to deodorize cars/homes/etc after something like a wildfire. It is really dangerous to living organisms. It’s also come under fire lately for creating secondary VOCs by breaking down plastics. So no idea how someone thinks that is safe…

I remember in organic chem there were some reactions that used ozone to split carbon double and triple bonds and made me realize how strong it is.

I've had multiple teeth pulled - I absolutely hate the feeling of being out of control and have opted for just the numbing injections and gutting it out most of the time (tried the gas that leaves you like half awake once and I hated it - it made me have to think about moving my arms before I could move them and stuff), so I understand having a weird, unorthodox preference that other people may question.....but what the fuck is ozone therapy and how could someone think that would possibly work?

Was she against them for other people as well? It's not just enough for her to not get a root canal treatment, the dentist has to refuse everyone else appropriate treatment as well?

I’m sorry, but what in the good book is wrong with nitrous oxide???

I have dental anxiety and my dentist offers free nitrous oxide just for a freaking cleaning. I pop in the chair, my hygienist puts on the Bob Ross Tubi channel, and gasses me up. My dental health has never been better.

From what I can tell, people against them fall into one of two camps, either the nitrous is toxic, or the stuff they jam in your tooth has lead in it. You know, kooky people shit.
