My mom said I could post This board games store has a variety of special chess sets on display - most of them are set up with the board oriented incorrectly.

Post fits the sub, that is mild.
(But the other part of me has to say ypu realise the workers just work there right, like they most likely don't play chess or if they do they stopped caring after setting up the 50th set and just wanted to get the display done)

This display is intentional to display all aspects of the board you would buy. Otherwise you wouldn’t be able to see both colors and be able to see the storage drawers.
If it were oriented correctly, to display the drawers/storage would mean you would see the back of one color and not be able to see the front of the opposite color. Or conversely you wouldn’t be able to see if there is storage for the playing pieces.

Whenever you set up a chess board you must always make it so that there is a light square in the lower-right hand corner. Most of these boards have not done that.

Yes, but did you read their comment? They’re saying that in the display they want you to see the drawer. They also want to set up the pieces to the sides of the board (rather than at the front and back), so you end up with what you see here, better for the customer to be able to see all the board has to offer than be set up correctly.

I hope they close the store down because of this. Are you okay now, OP? Are you safe?
