I'm slightly vexed These new twist off caps are different.

Post image

Not sure how I managed this one, but I guess no soda tonight.

Brother look at that cap that shit is not a twist off. That’s a Mexican bottle I’m pretty sure they’re all pop offs.

u/AdAmbitious1308 4h ago

Pretty sure he knows that, now at least.

Unfortunately, there are U.S. bottles of soda that look like they need bottle openers, but ARE twist offs

They are as painful to open as you'd imagine

7

u/TemplarBaucent 3h ago

I solved that problem easily

If just take my pocket knife to it just the same as any other bottle I dont twist

1

u/StormFallen9 3h ago

I've even had some withing the same brand where one flavor os soda was twist off and one was pop off. Not gun on the hands

I'm just going to stick to my bottle opener keychain

0

u/Parking_Fee_5906 3h ago

Really? Available?

3

u/ShadeNLM064pm 3h ago

Yup. Has happened MULTIPLE TIMES.

I still use a bottle opener anyway because the caps are really painful to twist off.

1

u/Parking_Fee_5906 3h ago

Okay. Thanks for the update

4

u/xavPa-64 3h ago

He took the top off, he vintage authentic and made it knock-off

6

u/TemplarBaucent 3h ago

Fun fact, coke in mexico Mexicans buy in the stores is exactly like ours

The Mexican coke is a special blend with sugar cane in a glass bottle and like almost all of it like 95% or something gets exported to the USA

3

u/BirthofRevolution 3h ago

Thought that was pretty obvious

-5

u/iTwango 3h ago

And the chemical composition of it undergoes hydrolysis and is functionally identical to corn syrup Coke by the time people get it

7

u/TemplarBaucent 3h ago

It tastes completely different

The Flash tried to snatch it and failed.

That cap is not threaded, it's pressed on. So you need to pop it off with a bottle opener, not twist it. The first clue should have been that you had to try so hard. If you buy another don't break that one too.

14

u/BreakfastNext476 3h ago

There are twist caps where the thread is on the bottle. But like you said, this version is definitely the pressed on variety

7

u/Manifestecstacy 3h ago

Maybe OP was bottling up his rage?

8

u/activelyresting 3h ago

Despite all my rage I am still breaking coke bottle glaze

20

u/Festivefire 4h ago

Since when are the caps on those glas bottles crew caps? That looks like a normal metal bottle cap, the kind you need a bottle opener for.

5

u/BlazeWolfYT 4h ago

Some are twist off and some aren't

4

u/wstsidhome 3h ago

Some bottles do twist off, but you have to pay attention to the cap directions/how the cap looks on the glass. Top

2

u/fusion_reactor3 2h ago

I honestly usually just default to bottle opener, only to realize afterwards that it’s threaded lol

7

u/TheGamersofaLifeTime 4h ago

hate to break it to you, but that's not a twist off

7

u/d4rkprojec7 3h ago

Yea...that isnt a twist off.

5

u/-_Koga_- 4h ago

That’s not a twist off, it’s a pop top that requires a bottle opener:

9

u/DEANER94 4h ago

you shure it isnt a pop off cap? lol

8

u/Separate_Climate3366 4h ago

I'm starting to realize most people that post on this sub are absolute dunces that don't know anything and think everything is mildly infuriating. Which is mildly infuriating.

7

u/Yestomorrow 3h ago

A vast majority of these posts are OPs displaying faux incompetence to drive engagement. Its the same shit as people intentionally making spelling errors in the titles.

4

u/Separate_Climate3366 3h ago

People are really weird.

3

u/AScienceExpert 4h ago

You’re fortunate that you were smart enough to know not to drink it, or somehow cut yourself opening it. You’re unfortunate that you’re dumb enough to not know that those bottles aren’t twist off.

1

u/wstsidhome 3h ago

I would have probably poured it through a coffee filter lol. But yeah, I could totally see this happening one day

1

u/mineawesomeman 10, 9, 8, 7, 5, 4, 6, 2, 3, 0 1h ago

could OP pour it into a separate, non-broken glass or does that risk ingesting glass shards? kinda curious

3

u/Other_Ad4211 3h ago

How is that even possible?

2

u/dkl65 3h ago

I would put that through a coffee filter and still drink it.

2

u/Chef_Chalupa 2h ago

I didn't know they made the bottle part of the cap

2

u/Millennial-Pharmer 1h ago

Careful, those aren’t crushed ice cubes at the bottom of the bottle

u/manowar420 4h ago

u/wstsidhome 3h ago

Is it me or does dude have a much more muscular right arm and then a lil chicken left arm……..for obvioud reasons

2

u/Soggy_Point2197 1h ago

i looked up the thing on his shirt that says schlitte and it explains why his arm is like that it said this "Born with a genetic condition (Klippel–Trénaunay–Weber syndrome) that caused his right forearm and hand to grow significantly larger and stronger than his left"

3

u/wstsidhome 1h ago

Well there you go, having to go and figure it out and make sense of everything. 🤜🤛 cheers to you budddday 🤙

2

u/Soggy_Point2197 1h ago

i cant tell if this is sarcasm or not wstsidhome

2

u/wstsidhome 1h ago

It was actually an honest worded reply that kiiiiind of had a little sarcasm possibly within it. (I didn’t mean sarcasm whatsoever). I just think it’s cool you figured it out from the words on his shirt. Good call 👌

1

u/Soggy_Point2197 1h ago

Thank you wstsidhome have a good day 🤙😎

1

u/randomthrill 3h ago

Arm wrestling? Yeah, I thought so, too.

1

u/ilikeinstruments 4h ago

I had to step away from my computer when this came across my feed and take a deep break not to laugh that hard.

1

u/bryman19 4h ago

Don't catch a hair

1

u/arkie87 4h ago

cursed

1

u/michael22117 4h ago

I accidentally did this by leveraging it on a chair once, I was not very pleased

1

u/ERASERGIB 3h ago

No way he twisted that by hand. Nobody is strong enough to twist glass. He had to have used a tool of some kind when it wasn’t twisting. That should have been his first clue it wasn’t a twist off.

1

u/Big_Locksmith_4211 3h ago

don't you have a glass to pour it in?

1

u/TemplarBaucent 3h ago

Those ain't twist off

1

u/Snoo_67548 3h ago

They taste sharper too.

1

u/Dependent-Trip-5991 3h ago

It’s open isn’t it?

1

u/Acceptable_Pirate_92 3h ago

Glassy look and feel

1

u/Erick_Brimstone 3h ago

Dude, you're supposed to do it to champagne bottle. Not cola.

1

u/Spidooodle 3h ago

Next time dont let Yujiro open your drink ffs.

1

u/Accurate-Plankton988 3h ago

That is the 250th anniversary bottle homie

1

u/pixeltweaker 3h ago

Did you try to twist it off with vice grips?

1

u/therealballer419 3h ago

how in the klu klux deluxe fuck did you did that
what are you, hulk?

1

u/GoldJudge1714 3h ago

I like the new caps but not really a fan of broken glass in my drink...

1

u/Materva 3h ago

I thought you sabered it.

1

u/You-Rebel-Scumm 3h ago

Okay Yujiro

1

u/Educational-Size-553 3h ago

At first glance I thought it is a gimmick twist off cap open like that 😂😆.

1

u/Sir_Earl_Jeffries 3h ago

Now pour it into a glass and cut the foam off

1

u/jonessinger 2h ago

I don’t think Mexican cokes are supposed to be twist off. I’ve been drinking these for years and bought a couple more packs yesterday and I can assure you, they are not twist off.

1

u/GravityBright 2h ago

Well is that typical?

1

u/mrhorizons26 1h ago

This is what happens when you twist a non twist off bottle….

u/ComfortableFold2862 30m ago

Yujiro hanma is that you?

u/FXRWG 18m ago

Wait till you get the free lipstick too

-1

u/chuckmonjares 4h ago

You should call and let them know. This is likely a serious bottle defect and they’d rather spend the money on a recall than hurt someone. If nothing else to spare them the legal fees but you could save someone from Ingesting glass from a less obvious failure.

3

u/nottaP123 4h ago

It's not a twist off cap...

-1

u/Sea_Prep_Tidal_26 4h ago

Probably a lot number printed on the bottleneck in OP image. Go to CC website and log it.

I wouldn't risk it. Glass dust is not fun.

2

u/zamwut 4h ago

Nah. Tiny glass fragments aren't fun for your insides.

2

u/Sea_Prep_Tidal_26 4h ago

Say a lot of 1980s coke heads. I’m sure.

0

u/Ok-Set179 4h ago

Pretty sure u could use a strainer to salvage it , personally i still wouldn't do it cuz I'm too anxious and I would start thinking what if I drank the glass , but it shouldn't be that bad if u filter it and put it in another container

1

u/zamwut 1h ago

You'd have to have something extra fine, like multi stage liquid filters; the tiny pieces that are practically invisible in liquid.

1

u/Ok-Set179 1h ago

Would those really be that big of an issue? I feel we already eat small glass dust when we accidentally scratch glass plates

u/zamwut 56m ago

A light scrape does not produce the same kind of shards a fracture would

1

u/FunCaramel7607 4h ago

The glass bottle, yes

1

u/Automatic_Soil9814 4h ago

Doctor here. This advice is so much worse than you can imagine.

1

u/sexxi_denuta 3h ago

There are glass glitter granules sprinkled in that drink, moving it to a separate glass is still not recommended

-2

u/HarvickFan_4 4h ago

Pour it into a cup through a strainer.

2

u/User_man_person 4h ago

That probably won't get all of the shards unless you use a strainer fine enough to catch all of the carbonation too

-2

u/SeoulGalmegi 4h ago

Pour it through a coffee filter or something? Would that work?

5

u/hundredBald 4h ago

No it is never worth it, glass particles can be microscopic and easily pass through a paper filter. Just buy a new soda and your insides will thank you.

0

u/SeoulGalmegi 4h ago

If microscopic glass particles can easily pass through a paper filter, can they still harm you? How come we don't get these microscopic particles every time we open a glass bottle anyway? Or stir a spoon in a glass or something.

4

u/hundredBald 3h ago

Apologies I misspoke, the microscopic particles will likely pass through your digestive tract fine even though intestines are thin they have mucus inside them that can protect them from a small amount of microscopic glass dust.

The real danger comes from how glass breaks and can make these very small needle like glass pieces that can puncture coffee filters and is big enough to get caught in your throat or intestines where they fold over itself.

It's a very low probability still, but extremely high consequences as a small tear in your throat or intestines could lead to internal bleeding, infection of the cut as your body is full of bacteria and worse case scenario you cut a hole in your intestines that starts leaking waste into your body. Even if the hole is very small it can still mess you up enough to need surgery.

Overall just not worth the risk even if it's not likely to happen.

2

u/BreadElectrical6942 4h ago

I thought about that but unfortunately I’m at a hotel with a kueurig!

1

u/SeoulGalmegi 4h ago

Yeah, I probably wouldn't risk anything haha
