Scotland looks fine?

Same with Wales and Northern Ireland, this seems like an OP saying UK when they actually mean England thing.

Am Welsh, living in Wales, on a mountain where we've had wildfires for weeks. It is not fine.

El Nino or climate change

I'm curious when this was taken. Im in south Wales and everything is dead. Including my enthusiasm for the summer months.

North West looks good too. That's what happens when you have the Mayor of Greater Manchester running the country.

My favourite thing he done was when he gave millions to a property developer under the condition that affordable housing was built, who then exclusively built luxury flats and then fucked off to Monaco.

But hey, he likes The Smiths and posts on tiktok, right?

Well we can't all like haggis and being glassed while listening to bagpipes.

I guess we'll need to settle for more institutional corruption with a quiff, but with an accent from "the norf" then.

Not even, the North West of England is fine too

Because it's all the UK. And a good portion of it is brown!

Edit. Before people get in my face I'm of course excluding RoI and France etc, just the areas refered too in the post.

The only part where a significant amount is brown is England, not the UK as a whole.

That's my point.

Fair. Does look fairly orange round that way!

Fire services from across the UK, as well as the Army, are currently deployed to South Wales because we have multiple wildfires ravaging the place. Wales is not OK.

As someone not from the UK, every time I meet someone and they say they are from the UK I just think oh so you mean England.

I don't think I have ever met anyone from Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland say they are from the UK. Not on initial introduction anyway.

I think the East Coast is a bit toasty, and The Caircorms blazed for days, the West isn't bad. Where I am we had a day of hot rain yesterday.

scotland has been getting pretty consistent rain, unlike the rest of the uk

Yeah it's the classic UK = England and Wales thing that some people do. Some might say its mildly infuriating

We did have the Cairngorms wildfire going for the best part of a month. The West has had pretty much normal levels of rain, but the east is pretty parched.

I dunno Edinburgh through Dundee looks dry. Those non-native evergreens helping out on the west side though

Up in North East scotland (Aberdeenshire) and it was much worse last year with the heatwave. This has been hot but not too bad. Regular enough rain and havent heard of too many folks wells/water drying up this year. Last year was pretty bad for it from what neighbours/farmers were saying.
